Tried to add photo but it was too large, I'm getting an alarm unavailable message in the dash but only when the beeps don't sound when I lock or unlock with the remote, the unit seems to randomly wake up and the beeps reappear! Is the siren unit just a siren or does it include the control circuitry?

It's on nearside, I need to take the plastic cover off to get to it properly
-
Yes that's where I'm going to look, as with most moderns ideally situated for damp contamination
-
Thanks, yes I'm thinking it's probably there I suspect it is a bad connector and/or is water ingress

Well due to my mother not being very well I haven't had time to investigate, it seemed to settle down but today acted weird again. Firstly when I went back to the car after work it showed break in detected but I didn't hear the alarm go off during the day (it's parked under the office window) and strangely the bips that normally accompany open/close were absent. Then tonight the alarm went off when driving again I had to stop switch off, unlock doors with remote and eventually it stopped. The bips on open/close then reappeared. Does anyone know where the alarm sounder unit is positioned?

I found that Allen keys work better than screwdrivers

Thanks, I'll try to have a look when I've got some time, it's not a drastic problem yet I'll maybe manage to look at the weekend

Well I was driving when it went off so moving I don't imagine that battery would cause an issue in those circumstances although it is the original. I don't think it's door or bonnet/boot contacts as there is no indication that they are open. I'm suspicious that it's a bad connection on the siren unit itself I guess this might have a battery backup inside and might go off if it thinks it had been disconnected? Just a guess that though! Did seem more prevalent in wet weather improving if it's dry for a few days

It's been playing up for a while, sometimes it goes off when the doors are locked with the remote. In that case in simply lock with key instead so the alarm isn't active. I suspect damp connector but not sure, it is odd in that it didn't always (maybe never I don't recall) flash the indicators in the same way as a 'normal' alarm.
-
Any ideas? weird or what! No flashing indicators as far as I can tell just alarm. Can only stop it by stopping and opening doors with remote
-
It depends why the light is on, the generic OBD2 scanners will not always give sufficient information or deal with all codes but in this instance it might work

For the dealer price you could get multiecuscan software and cables and scan it yourself! Then useful for any future issue plus you should be able to use a reliable independent garage to do any repairs

All cosmetic, personally I'm not over sure about the upholstery on these but they look good outside and they are extremely rare in the UK -

From not very good memory the Goodyears on mine did about 50 k on the back, the fronts didn't last anywhere near as long. -

They probably use more than one supplier but mine was on Goodyear as well. -
If it's wet I can spin my wheels a little out of the local Aldi car park but I'm not posh enough to shop at Tesco :-)

Looking at the photos as best as I can tell I think the rear tyres are original Goodyear not budgets which would make far more sense and tie in with the mileage -
I'd never buy on PCP myself it's just a main dealer gravy train, I don't think most buyers (or should I say renters) understand what they are signing up for they just see the apparently low monthly figure. I do think that people should be educated to look out for themselves though, the culture with ppi etc. Seems to be saying to people that whatever happens someone will bail you out!

Well I'm just surprised, my pads/ discs are only just near to changing at 80k and I don't drive like a pensioner, presumably it has spent all is life in heavy city centre traffic with a very aggressive driver. Is it possible that the report is wrong and it's on its original tyres that would make a lot more sense? (The report shows it as wearing budget tyres all round) Anyway obviously we will see, I do think that diesel is becoming an general issue though with all the talk of city centre smog taxation it even makes me start thinking that I can't keep mine much longer..... Except that I have no money to swap it. -

I would have thought that over£4k might be toppy? Unpopular model from discontinued brand and also diesel in today's climate will traders go for it? Given the condition it makes me wonder if the mileage is right you'd have to drive like a nutter to wear all 4 tyres and the front pads out in that amount of use. -

And you can fit 4 adults in a Delta! I don't think many people realise just how roomy a Delta is, positively huge in the back compared with a Guilietta -
Would agree that the estate looks more tempting I just find it annoying that fiat don't offer higher powered versions if VW can be successful across multiple brands all offering a wide range of performance options I can't see why fiat can't ? Personally if I had to get rid of the Delta (will probably only happen if age/mileage related unreliability sets in) I would probably prefer something less brash than modern Alfas but FCA don't really offer that option in a car with comparable performance to the 2 litre Delta
-
It's quite soft at applying itself but you wouldn't know really of it has been active or not aside from traction control which will flash on the dash when activated

Hmm purple never seen a purple one before ?? I suspect it is black metallic. Looks quite decent and as they are very unpopular with the general public I guess it could be a bargain, I'm surprised that it has brake pads worn out and presumably all 4 tyres have been replaced (states budget fitted) at such a low mileage. Steering comment seems odd. Well worth someone having a punt on it if the price is right though.
