  1. There are a few who still bring out the rust jokes but conversely a lot of people love and respect the brand not least via compute games and stratos , integrale etc. Fiat needed to be braver but I suspect they had already half decided to bin Lancia and simply took the easy route. I don't think the delta is exceptional in any way but it is very distinctive and deserves to be correctly identified, I am an Italian car enthusiast and I'd prefer my car to align with that, the one bonus of the Chrysler badge is rampant depreciation otherwise I would never have bought one!
  2. The Delta is italian design through and through, trying to sell it as American was stupid and doomed to failure even worse chrysler doesn't have a very good reputation in the UK so a double whammy. I find it very embarrassing to admit owning a Chrysler tbh
  3. There's a difference between platform sharing and slapping an inappropriate badge on!
  4. Has the chrysler 200 not been updated in the USA making the old 200/ flavia obsolete? Piece of junk in any case! The 300c should be badged as chrysler it has no connection with Lancia I think it must be as insulting to chrysler enthusiasts as badging a delta a chrysler is to lancisti.
  5. I suspect it could just be existing stock, whatever they've been running down the ranges for a while now can't be far from the end
  6. Not sure but I suspect both bravo and delta production probably ceased before the Italian summer break , anyone know for sure?
  7. Given your previous history I think you would find the delta a little disappointing, it is ok but only in terms of value for money it is sadly lacking compared to older Italians on the driving front. I reckon you ought to be able to get a limited for about £9k if you are patient enough, the interior ambience is so much better that it would be worth the wait and small extra expense plus you get the benefit of just about enough power with the 2.0 diesel. Disadvantage is no sliding rear seat as you get the much nicer heavily upholstered executive rear seat. Most that I have seen are pretty much standard spec although most have heated seats (essential with leather) and 18 inch wheels both of which were extras. I saw one for sale a while back with the glass roof, magic parking, hid lights essentially the full works so they do exist here was also one in hard black paint. I should also add that if you have only driven deltas in lhd you might be a bit shocked by the driving position as the RHD conversion is poor, takes some getting used to tbh.
  8. Even if the trim panel has to come off I don't think it'll be a big deal to do, maybe they should get Ed 'rattle can' China to do it with a halfords aerosol!
  9. Whilst it does not excuse the situation I think those would have been painted by an outside supplier, fiat should be more vigilant with supplier quality than that although I recall the pillar trims on dedra and delta 2 having similar issues so it is taking them a long time to sort out! It's silly really because something structurally not that important ruins the whole ownership experience. If mine fail I think I'll get them powder coated. The rover 75/mg ZT used to suffer similar issues incidentally on very similar trims
  10. Can't say I've noticed the gear surround thing, as regards limited interior I think the piano black finish is a lot better than the silver of other models.
  11. My hill holder hardly ever works so I just ignore it, other than that I have a funny squeak from the back over bumps when cold but otherwise not too much to worry about
  12. Well on my car the console is definitely angled towards the driver and also different to lhd, are you sure yours is angled to the left?
  13. I can't say I've ever noticed the centre console being angled the wrong way, just happens that Stuart and Julia are here this weekend with their lhd 1.9 twin turbo so if I remember I'll compare the two dashboards
  14. Sadly the update doesn't change the splash screen although I suspect dealers might be able to do it(?)
  15. You can find most manuals in the lancia section here http://aftersales.fiat.com/elum/Home.aspx?languageId=2
  16. Our delta has tyre pressure monitoring, cornering lights in the fogs (they only work at very low speed), if you have the adaptive lights (expensive option when new) you will also have headlight washers if you don't have washers you don't have adaptive lights! I wouldn't want run flat tyres as they would feel like riding on concrete wheels given that the tide us already jumpy.
