Grille fitted, went for the mikey method but I snapped off the top tabs by pushing them with a screwdriver rather than just pulling and once the top ones were off it was easy to pull the grille off. Only down side was that I broke the locating pin on the bottom of the old grille. Managed to find 9 of the eleven original clips, fiddly to detach from the remaining slither of plastic but ok. The new grille clips loosely into place and I then fitted back the metal clips that I could reach by trying to get them started by hand (not very comfortable as the clips are made of sharp thin metal) then used a flat bladed stubby screw driver to push them on fully. The near side clips were a lot more difficult to get on than the offside not sure why although it was maybe slightly more obstructed. In the end managed to get 7 clips back on but couldn't access the ones at the bottom of the grille, I didn't think it's a disaster and can't think it will dislodge or fall off. The grille looks so much better than the Chrysler one, the pointed section in the middle follows the lines of the car and makes the front look right, before with the Chrysler grille the bonnet area didn't flow properly. Not the easiest of tasks and I've a few grazes to prove that I am a true lancista!

Simply find the offending part on eper this shows a revision next to it, hover over this and a small pop up describes the change and date from, they could do this in about a couple of minutes!
-
Not sure anyone would take notice of the pattern on the headrest, on the limited the headrests are fixed in the back too which makes life extra awkward
-
You could possibly take the surround off and get it refinished(?) On the limited the dash surround and wheel are silver too by the way it's only the S momo design where they are all black

I kind of prefer this approach although it would be nice to retain the chrysler grille perfect for future use, there is an outside chance if I ever want to get rid that a new buyer might prefer it as a chrysler! Still concerned that bumper might get damaged but will have another look on Xmas eve if it's not raining that is can't use the garage as it is still full of unfinished volumex coupe. If needed those clips aren't too expensive seem to be about £10 for 20 from fiat, a lot for very small bits of tin but not bank breaking.
-
You'll need the console surround to match now too!

Get the impression that something is lost in translation as he doesn't seem to understand what a paypal invoice is! He is saying buy on eBay first but if I do that I would be theoretically committed to a higher price. It's a right pain but the caps I want are really expensive ordered through fiat with the risk that chrysler ones will turn up to!
-
By the way I checked on the sill trims and they seem to be about 35 quid a side for the stainless insert only, what I can't work out is how they differentiate between chrysler and Lancia as they don't seem to list a chrysler specific part number, I can put my chassis number in eper and it recognises the car as chrysler so why no chrysler part number I really don't know ...... Worried that if I tried to order chrysler ones would turn up!

Thanks, the small tray on the near side is missing on all cars, it was deleted in 2010 not sure why although my washer bottle tends to dribble a bit so maybe they figured it was better to allow this to get away fairly quickly??

had a quick look at the grille today but had to stop due to lack of time before dusk, Nello how did you remove the bumper? I can see the main fixings above and below and the single one at the bottom of each wheel arch but it still seemed quite well fixed how did you detach the sides? Alternatively Mikey how did you detach the grille without taking the bumper off? Did you just undo the top fixings and then pull it off? bit reluctant to do that as worried it might damage the actual bumper. Those little metal clips are annoying I can see that they are easy to fit at the factory but they are a real pain when you just want to get the grille out! I tried to reach the clips by putting my hand behind the grille but I think it is just too tight for space

Great Cars, Horrendous Support/customer Services
Rossocorsa replied to Y10Turbo's question in Chrysler Ypsilon
Fiat/chrysler it's all pretty much the same -
Your centre caps look ok but they are the wrong shape for mine as I have 18s, having said that which seller did you get them from? I looked up the list price of the momo design grille yesterday and I nearly died! Near enough 300 euros! Thank goodness for eBay!
-
Yes but their centre caps are about half price so what to do......

Great Cars, Horrendous Support/customer Services
Rossocorsa replied to Y10Turbo's question in Chrysler Ypsilon
No recent experience but personally I haven't found fiat to be too bad over the years, they were really helpful when I personally imported a delta hpe but that was some time ago now. I think it is always best to assume all main stealers are imbeciles until proven otherwise though irrespective of the marque they represent and daylight robbery is a british disease -
I saw that turbo guess it was the one on eBay? Seemed pricey but they have all gone now, only thing I noticed was that it had what appeared to be the wrong alloys fitted other than that it looked tidy, had three y10 over the years as day to day bangers 1050 touring which was series 1 ,like your turbo, was much more comfy than the other two but Gtie was most fun to drive not sure I could tolerate one in my old age though! Far too small for me these days!

Yes that's the guy I want 4 centre caps plus the badge, he advised me a discounted figure for them but when I replied the next day try as I might I can't get a paypal invoice from him so I think he must be closed for Xmas
-
Shouldn't trigger the light as you MUST disconnect the battery For AT LEAST 10min (I would leave a lot longer just to be sure)before you remove, in theory it shouldn't see the change over (?). Mine came from Poland but remains to be seen if it fits/ works OK so I'm kind of reluctant to recommend just yet but it came off eBay and arrived quickly. At the moment struggling to get rear badge and wheel centres got price off seller then can't get Them to send an invoice, guessing they have gone on holiday(?). Tried to post a link for air bag removal instructions from my iPad but for some reason it pastes here blank ???

I don't mind this combo, certainly it's better than all over white, it's just the black grille that I find looks wrong on a light colour especially with that hideous chrysler badge in shiny chrome in the middle of it. If they'd blackened the badge too it'd look better Also instead of colour coding the door bottoms and bumper trim I think it'd look better with those in gloss black or the original black plastic
-
Pretty similar except I think the sprung bars push inwards, just summoning up the courage to do it and not keen on punching holes in the steering wheel trim but there's no other way to do it
-
Have you fitted the airbag yet? Just wondered how you got on with it, I know that you need to open up the two holes on the side of the steering wheel to access the sprung clips with a rod or screwdriver just wondered how easy it is in practice? With regard to the grille how did you access the back of it to release the lugs?

I had mats in my car so didn't try the new ones bought them as spares, you got me worried now......are you sure they didn't send you ones for an auto the mat shape is different apparently. (?) Nello each to their own but I think the momo S looks terrible in light colours with the black grille contrasting too much and especially with the chrome crappler badge too! Chrome waterfall is much better on a white car and I would agree a white one needs a black or Matt black roof they don't look right all one colour

It's just a means to achieve co2 targets under test conditions it's very little use under real world conditions unless you drive in a constant traffic jam

Quite Possibly The Funniest Delta Review Out There!
Rossocorsa replied to MikeyRules's question in Chrysler Delta
you might be right but they actually spent a lot of money retooling parts for the chrysler branding that us nutters are now trying at great expense to change back! The RHD mechnical/eletrical bits were already in use in the fiat bravo so it was only really parts of the dash, headlights and rear fog/reversing that would have been on hand from the suspended launch in 2008/9 -
If you have a tool station nearby they do a nice cheap ptfe spray, infact all their sprays are a good price. Before you lubricate Slide the key in the door and try it carefully just a fraction difference in the depth it goes in can make all the difference to whether it turns or not. The cold weather will not help as it will make the barrel tight
-
Try to avoid WD 40 as it attracts dust and dirt into the lock however in an emergency owt's better than nowt! Better to use graphite or a ptfe loaded product that leaves just ptfe behind (ie a dry lubricant)
