Back to the original issue I think that the problem with the delta is that it's a cheap car made expensive, they penny pinched in some areas and used too many bravo bits which in turn are from the lacklustre stilo. They really went to town on the outside so it's a shame they didn't spend more on the details, the VW group know how to do this properly an Audi appears properly posh but still is only a skoda underneath with the delta you absolutely know it's really a fiat. Great value second hand though!

The OE ones are crazy money! Did you get these on UK ebay or ebay.it?
-
What's the plastic quality like? I'm a bit put off the ones I've seen on eBay as they don't look as good quality as oe

It's a mystery the hill holder, my car shows no errors on multiecuscan but honestly you certainly wouldn't notice it even when I was up in the lakes where there are plenty of steep gradients I can't say that I had any faith in it. They always used to fit washer bottle level wotsits (my dedra and nouva delta hpe had one) so why they stopped is a mystery
-
Honestly of it didn't say it has it I wouldn't even realise it has hill holder fitted! I always drive in a traditional manner as the hill holder only sends to operate if I really stomp on the brake pedal and as it's meant for fairly step junctions I never find I need to brake like that to stop due to the slope pulling you back anyway
-
for the amount of times i actually look under the bonnet I don't really see it as a hardship, now the lack of a washer bottle low level warning light I find massively irritating especially when they see fit to provide only semi necessary tech like auto wipers, auto lights and a hill holder that hardly ever actually works! sunglasses holder is a nice touch but TBH when I got it I thought oh! nice touch! but actually have never used it

Probably saves weight though

I think fiat bravo folks have done it but is it really worth the bother?
-
They are only OK if you can devote a lot of time to them ours was as near perfect as you could get but still took a lot of pampering. They are also very sensitive cars even using the wrong brand/spec of tyre can be a disaster

Our tf was beautiful, special monogram paintwork, black and blue leather seats, optional smoke stone dashboard, sport pack with 4 pot front callipers, matching hardtop, spax dampers and many other minor mods. Lovely thing to drive and more space inside than mazda plus a bigger boot too. Needed plenty of TLC though and many components look weedy compared with italian standards, drive shafts like match sticks and under specified ex metro parts! Let it go for peanuts (although still over twice what the mazda dealer offered as part ex) but I just couldn't devote time to constantly fixing what was an every day car for us, loved it though a nice one like we had is great be warned though most out there are not nice at all

2 litre, I think it's ford derived rather than pure ford, it's a nice enough engine just not tuneful as I would like the k series in the tf was much nicer. I thought the 1.8 was just a smaller version of same? I think the 2.0 preferable as the 1.8 is underpowered and also doesn't have LSD fitted. I'm only 5 9 but felt really squashed in the passenger seat, drivers side is ok, for some reason mazda fit a huge plastic foot rest under the carpet once this is cut down it is better! It is used every day rain or shine currently doing about 100 mile per day!
-
Ours is a mk3.5 I find the plastics are soft and scratch really easily and the passenger leg room is just ridiculously restricted to the point where I can't travel in it as a passenger (and I'm only a short arse!). Other negatives are that the engine sounds very uninspiring rather like a washing machine and the Bose sound system is no better than average very disappointing. Plus points awesome handling and road holding plus a supple ride, great performance, superb gear change, fantastic electric roof. To drive overall tbh I preferred our previous mg TF but it wasn't built well at all.
-
we (or rather my semi-ex wife) has an MX5 great handling and performance but interior plastics made out of recycled fairy bottles and it is just so cramped especially in the passenger seat (even with the stupid footrest cut down)

I think the renegade is based on 500x ?
-
A lot of the refreshed chrysler/dodge models in the US appear to be fiat/alfa derived such as the new 200 and Dodge Dart, not 100% sure I'm right but isn't the new jeep renegade even built in Italy?
-
I should add that these days unfortunately I have lots of sense but no money!
-
To be fair it was in the old days when they had more independent dealers and I think they did their best with the info they were provided. I largely cured the issue when I had a stainless exhaust fitted by pd gough ( at massive expense I had more money than sense in those days ....which is maybe why I had the dedra!) and I asked them to extend the tailpipe lower and a bit further backwards than the standard one
-
I just clobber the fuel flap firmly which is how the dealer I bought it from showed me to do it, never really given it any thought always thought it was ok tbh.
-
Occasionally I get a slight whiff of diesel, probably just the way the wind is blowing? I recall years ago having a dedra turbo and particularly when the sunroof was cracked open if I booted it it absolutely stank of petrol. Fiat even had it back in under warranty but didn't fix it, years later there was a big recall due to dedras sucking in exhaust fumes
-
The chrysler dealer where I bought my delta told me that fiat had made big improvements to the 300c but that they were difficult to sell as it had pushed the price too high. For me a 300c is classic American (although I think it's actually made in Canada?) and one badged lancia is as bad as a delta badged chrysler. Despite the lancia influenced interior it has very little italian design to it. Compare it to a thesis which is an absolutely beautifully built and engineered car
-
You will probably find that the manufacturer doesn't recommend cutting the plug off and if you do they'd probably say you need an engineer to fit a new lead

Looked into this further might have confused myself a bit with the way the connectors fit so it might be the case that if the metal disc on the original can be pulled off it might actually fit not sure if this is fixed or merely an adaptor, however the bag is definitely for an ypsilon so if nothing else it will be a different capacity and I am not going to take the bag off again to check!

https://www.shop4parts.co.uk/?name=store&op=Results&category=8&secondary=91&opts=1122&term=Fiat_Bravo_(2007%3E)_2.0_JTD_Antifreeze_/_Coolants&cat=Antifreeze_/_Coolants On shop4parts search for fiat bravo as in most cases it's identical but cross ref parts with eper to be sure. Prices for genuine parts are usually a lot cheaper than from fiat dealers (figure that one out!)
-
Just so no one else cocks up part number for delta is 735474034, there is also 735474035 but that is in a dark blue finish. Ypsilon is 735529211. I should have been more cautious when buying!
-
Done a bit of digging, it's for an ypsilon so there you go! Identical to look at but different connection on the back. It was advertised as delta but such is life! Anyone know anybody who needs one for a rebadged ypsilon? The ypsilon bag is much cheaper to buy from fiat so must have different internals in the same outer.
