10 points question but probably the answer is yes. do you have sat nav? if yes pressing open on the side of the console tilts the centre console and you can insert either a dvd or disc of music.... in the menu you can route what you want to send to the dvd's either radio or video... the fact that you have to 2 rear dvd screens means you have 2 dvd's otherwise where the ves unit sits would be a empty pocket. Yes that is the remote i am waiting for also the other 2 i have do not work... at least for me... to be fair i have not got to the dvd side of things for the kids yet, as i am working 7 out of 7, i concentrated on the mechanical part and maintenance first, i have the manual for the entertainment and stuff but did not had the time... Ps: headphones have batteries and tend to play up, if left on...
-
hmmm so you have twin dvd's? i do not have the originals... i have this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-Stereo-Headphones-Headset-Dual-Channel-IR-Infrared-For-Car-MP3-MP4-K5V5/152978166879?epid=1341410348&hash=item239e35945f:g:-t4AAOSw7p5aZru8 this ones have a button on the side off A or B depending on which screen you want to hear the sound from, the IR emitters are located in front of each dvd on ceiling. Should not matter how many headphones are connected. for the remote... the car should of come with one.... only one like the one in your link ;i already bought the other 2 variants and are not working as one is for single dvd(the switch on the side is to select dvd1 or dvd2) and the dual with RGBY(red green blue yellow) buttons towards the bottom of it wont work either... should not need pairing. workaround for myself for now is put a dvd on one screen in the ves and the other in the main unit and set it up for second screen you can mix and match as you want... like same dvd from main unit to play on both screens or the one from ves unit to work on both screens or one dvd on one and the other on the other... this would be the remote in closer pics https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHRYSLER-DODGE-CARAVAN-TOWN-COUNTRY-DVD-Entertainment-Remote-REAR-SEAT-OEM/302439281250?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649#rpdCntId my one is in customs and i am having second thoghts to pay the extra charge i received i have to pay today.(already paid 95£ including delivery) but because the seller declared a very high value on the parcel....seems that customs want me to pay another 35£... so be aware of buying things with high value from USA exceeding a certain amount.

Passenger Doors Unlock And Windows Wind Down Unexpectedly
SpAwNtoHell replied to alangear's topic in Newbie Forum
Check the wiring loom from body to drivers door... some wires tend to break or make contact with the body, creates a lot of electrical gremlins as most commands are given for lock unlock and windows from drivers door is a very common issue, if you have a look on youtube are some videos for Chrysler town and country is pretty much the same issue here in the uk but to the other door. -
Can you link a picture? the pipes for heater matrix go to the bulkhead under the dash, so you would have a feed and a return. Also what you describe makes me think at the heater line but cannot say 100%

Grand Voyager Rt 2008-2011 Diagnostic
SpAwNtoHell replied to SpAwNtoHell's question in Voyager 5th Generation (2008-2016)
Another update on this thread I personally think well worth it: https://appcar-diagfca.com/en/supported-vehicles/chrysler/chrysler-towncountry/ I tested this with this interface: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBDLink-SX-ELM327-compatible-USB-Diagnostic-Interface-OBDWiz-Software/161932865237?hash=item25b3f36ed5:g:2n0AAOSwNm5ZuT5n It can read all 29 modules in my GV RT limited, from door modules lights, dvd's transmission engine abs and able to perform some configurations also. Also i can read live data from engine PCM module and gearbox... It costed me in total under 90£ and i am using it with a win10 laptop 32bit. The only issue I found so far is that i can read fuel rail pressure only on idle, and that the licence is tied to a single VIN. Conclusion: this is pretty cheap(a garage charges at least 25£ every time you want a scan for dtc and not all are shown on key dance) and can read more stuff from this Chrysler then the 400£+ tools Disclaimer: I am not associated with any of the sellers i linked, except that i bought the program licence and interface to use on my own car. -
Can you link it @@power if would make my one not to be noisy i will give it a try and i will post here how good it was or not, might do a how to also as this section is missing some big time. Edit: spell check

2010 Grand Voyager 3Rd Row Seats Stuck
SpAwNtoHell replied to Daiben's question in Voyager 5th Generation (2008-2016)
I am so glad i miss those 4 buttons for the 3rd row... in my version... most of faults with those are either wiring or gear... -
Pollen filter is located behind glovebox, in order to replace it you have to remove it, in order to remove it you need to open the door of the glovebox all the way and release it from hangers, otherwise you cannot get to all screws. IMPORTANT gearbox oil should be only atf+4 not the common oils for auto gearboxes otherwise you will have 4 digit repair bill on the gearbox. https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTOMATIC-TRANSMISSION-SERVICE-KIT-MOPAR-ATF-4-CHRYSLER-GRAND-VOYAGER-RT-08-13/332372001304?hash=item4d62ea4218:g:3-4AAOSwXYtYuZhB The link is for the gearbox oil and filter, is good to save the seller has a website also most of the stuff i get for this cars i get from there, except engine oil as i get mobil1 esp formula green cap 5w30 as is the only good oil i found to meet Chrysler specs and aproval. As for the Haynes, you wont find one for the diesel... i have dvd for bits and bobs by jeep/dodge/chrysler but what i have does not cover the facelift midel after 2011... For cambelt: costed me 130 for the kit which the genuine is made by gates and water pump anoter 130, coolant for this is HOAT which stands for hybrid organic acid tehnology and is 100k miles 5 years life span. 5l was 60£ but is concetrated so you will get 10l of coolant out of it... Mopar/VM motori is doing the genuine parts for Chrysler/dodge/ram/jeep/fiat , filters oils coolant etc... A complete service for this in parts without labour costed me just over 500£ that is including a the dipstick tool to check gearbox oil and the locking tools for the cambelt change... As i do not have time to go around an buy from shops or leave the car at a garage i ordered everything online and done it all on a Sunday. Edit: i cand make some pdf with the steps if you want... pm me

Drivers Wing Mirror Indicator
SpAwNtoHell replied to fandabby's question in Voyager 5th Generation (2008-2016)
I managed to get it out without taking the mirror off, as i assume you already seen a video on youtube, my one was damaged so was not much hassle. Puting the new one was easier. Note is no difference from petrol to diesel models on these .... -

Did you got it from a car dealer or private? Do you get the engine light on now and then? Was the battery changed recently? If you got it from a car dealer ( even second hand which i assume) 30 days from the second you took posesion, you can take it to them to put it right. If battery was changed or disconnected the box wil go in learning mode and here and then for about 150 miles will have moments to be either slightly jerky or clunky but it all depends what you feel as clunky. You should not have transmission shocks while changing gears fwd best described like when you are stopped and you go from park or neutral to drive or reverse. Yes first point of call is gearbox oil change and filter and take it from there. Gearbox oil should be changed every 60k miles.
-
Oil change is typical as any oil change but filter is a bit hard to acces but not hard, changing gearbox oil and filter is messy and if the gearbox oil is not the genuie you will kill it. Diesel filter is under the rear axle a bit messy and i recommend axle stands that can handle 2.5 t and also the tank to be pretty low. Just Light on at the gauge.air filter is the easiest. And the hardest is cambelt do to the fact you need to replace water pump and coolant in the same time, not much space and fuel lines in the way.
-
Should not be clunky at all... should very smooth.

Drivers Wing Mirror Indicator
SpAwNtoHell replied to fandabby's question in Voyager 5th Generation (2008-2016)
I have seen a few on ebay, you are looking at about 70£ each side -
I found it easy to acces the diagrams really but i have a very strong it background i started with electronics and in it was very easy mechanics now was the hardest to pickup but the previous stuff i done in the past seem to matter a lot. Let me know how you get on with the seats, my chrysler end it having a date with the dealership and after they fidled with it for a month they replaced the gearbox, not sure if is recon or new but for sure looks very shiny in there... and now... for some reason the seat works every time, i can see someone went in there to the switches... ( i was planning to adress the issue with the seats and another thing with the central locking on one of the sliding doors myself but they done the seat..) so what i was thought is switches related... i think this proved it.

Strange Overheating.
SpAwNtoHell replied to Ben2802's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
If is an auto transmision, that can contribute to overheating...obviously with a au gearbox is more strain when towing on the oil of the gearbox and is cooled through the lines of the radiator but the fan should kick in then very fast. -
What was the code they got on diagnostic?
-
What oil do you use? Grade make? Up to half and spot on half on temp gauge is normal. Some oils are creating this. If it is showing black smoke with a tendency to dark blu grey smoke it is burning it. The only oil i found to meet the specs for this engine is either the genuine on or mobil one green cap/esp formula 5w30. Castrol seems to evaporate as you relate. Did not try onther makes.

Grand Voyager Gearbox Issue, Need Gearbox Code
SpAwNtoHell replied to Nelix's question in Voyager 5th Generation (2008-2016)
I found this list of codes for this gearbox, some people might be interested in it; are a few codes not listed like the type in this topic that finishes in a letter but other then that is matching the workshop manual. https://www.trnw.net/z-search/62TE.php -
This is the schematic so is not actual sensor... just motors the switches... the variable resistance of the motor... is used by the memory sets by module... or i would call it just wiring...
-
Looks like the multi way switches if you ask me as memory is only controlled through the module, manual adjusting... not.
