  1. It was faulty glow plugs causing the starting problem, despite no fault codes coming up! Car starting fine now. Now, to get that annoying squeaking from rear end sorted! Emptied God knows how many tins of lubricant on all visible bolts, bushes, etc, on rear control arms and suspension, but to no avail! MoT tester wasn't concerned with squeaking in March. Been like this since getting caught out on flooded road at end of December. Any ideas?
  2. Aye, they're addictive. Bought my one, a 2010 CRD Touring, 11 years ago. Thought about replacing it with a newer car a couple of times, but nowt compares to the stunning looks, size and comfort of the 300C. Hopefully have the problem of starting diagnosed by this weekend. I'll let.you know how I get on.
  3. Glow plugs is the way to go I think! Cheap as chips! Baffled by no fault codes, though! Spoke to a guy who owned one as a taxi (brave/stoopid/deep-pocketed fella) and he reckons it could be melting fuses on the relay or fuse box front left of engine bay. Also, the big engine breather pipe which looks like an elephant ear can get clogged up and choke engine and cause back pressure.
  4. What was the outcome of replacing the ECT? Did it cure your starting problem? I'm going through a similar dilemma, too. Glow plugs and module replaced after throwing up fault codes. But a few weeks later, it came back. No codes whatsoever, even from AA patrolman attendance! In specialist garage at mo, fuel pump appears good. But mechanic is scratching his head!
  5. Hi, I'll be needing to replace the third set of front bushes on my 2010 300C in the four years I've had it. It's only done 59,000 miles! Help! Can anyone recommend a garage who will supply and fit poly bushes in Scotland or the north of England? Fed up having to go through this every 12-14 months and am wanting to have 2-3 years' trouble-free motoring. Also, my MOT threw up an advisory on bit of play on the McPherson struts at the front. Might as well get this seen to, too!
