you dont need flash leads get one length of wire 10 inches long take out the relay nearest the front n/s push wire in or put a spade connector on it into 87 put the other end in fuse for radio now amp turns on when key turned

are you on about the light on dash or the brake lights at rear off car ? if dash then yes check handbrake if rear lights foot brake switch check by lifting the peddle and see if lights gone out if so readjust switch or mite have to replace it
