Electric Noise From Engine...
turtlepowerdaniel replied to chrism172001's question in Voyager 5th Generation (2008-2016)
headlights stay on for how ever long they are set to via the control centre above your head where it reads temp and MPG etc after turning the car off, turning lights out and locking the doors the lights are set to either stay on for a further 20, 30 or 60 seconds or you can have it set to off instead, they call it guild you home lights so at night you can see where you are walking going to your house door I presume this is what you are on about anyway. the heater does come on when engine has or is running, it is to assist the engine etc to warm up quicker and get to temp, you might also find that like mine when you turn it off and hang around the car for a few minutes it will start to sound like a mini jet engine does make a few people uneasy, also during the warm up process on cold days you will see a bit of steam from under your passenger side sliding door, this is just the heater don't worry it has a separate exhaust as for the parrot kit, I haven't a clue I am afraid sorry -
Chrysler Software Update
turtlepowerdaniel replied to Msd26129's question in Voyager 5th Generation (2008-2016)
not sure about independents having the right software but one thing you can try is instead of taking the fuse out for a few minutes, try taking the negative terminal off the battery for a good 15 minutes. Reason I suggest this is that it will do a complete reset and make the IPM (integrated power module) forget any faults it picked up and start all systems afresh. It is a long shot but it worked for 2 faults that my grand voyager had with the speedo needles not lighting up when lights are on and also it kicked my folding mirrors back into action. if that fails then go try the software update and you shouldn't be told that you have no choice but to have a full service, just tell them the service was done not long ago by a friend can't sell you something that is not needed or required and irrelevant -

Fitting aftermarket Stereo to Grand Voyager As my OEM stereo on my Voyager has recently decided to start to fail ( the CD player does not work and the radio need to be retuned each time) I decided to fit a aftermarket stereo. I have treated myself to a decent sat nav/ entertainment system, mistakenly I thought this would be easy, I purchased a suitable ISO adapter and a facia adaptor, I have managed to fit thee stereo but am stuck with 2 problems 1. I have all the lights on but no sound, I did get the radio to play if I plug the original stereo on with the ignition on then swap the stereo without switching of the ignition, once the ignition is switched off, no sound again I found lot of information about other chyslers having amplifed speakers has anyone dealt with this issue? there is a link on youtube showing a wire being passed all the way to a relay in the fuse box but this is for a american Town and country, is there a easier solution? 2. does anyone know what The aerial socket is, is it a Fakra connection, it looks like it but want to make sure before a buying it I look forward to any advice i have a all singing all dancing clarion system coming from Amazon in the next few days and would like to fit it asap Enrich100 View Public Profile Send a private message to Enrich100 Send email to Enrich100 Find all posts by Enrich100 Add Enrich100 to Your Contacts 10-01-2014, 07:28 PM Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: UK Posts: 508 If you do have the amp fitted, then you will have to run new wiring from the radio to the amp and bypass the amp. I thought I had posted details for it at some point in the past, but can't seem to find it now Regards tfb View Public Profile Send a private message to tfb Find all posts by tfb Add tfb to Your Contacts 10-07-2014, 02:03 PM Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2014 Posts: 5 thanks for the advice Enrich100 View Public Profile Send a private message to Enrich100 Send email to Enrich100 Find all posts by Enrich100 Add Enrich100 to Your Contacts 10-07-2014, 02:12 PM Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2014 Posts: 5 do you know where the amo is usually installed? The factory stereo provides a left and right audio to the amp and the amp then splits that front and rear. It's a data connection from the stereo to the amp that controls the fade/balance. You'll need to run 2 additional pairs from the new stereo to the amp and join them onto say the rear speakers and use the exisitng wires to join to the front speakers. The wiring diagrams https://drive.google.com/folderview?...0k&usp=sharing will show you what wire goes to what speaker -

no special tool needed, 2 clips and lift might just be a bit stiff but I cleaned mine last month and just lifted up from where the clips are -

I haven't done my fuel filter yet (only had my voyager a year) but from what I hear it is a relatively easy job to do. As for the Gearbox and power steering fluid being the same ATF+4, this is because of the yellow metals inside the gearbox etc and using other oils can cause major damage as it starts to corrode. 5w30 oil is ok but is more for colder climates where temps fall consistently below -10 Celsius and summer temps don't get very high, it is a Thinner oil so if used in hot temps it can prevent a good seal around moving parts. here for UK I stick to 10w40 synthetic oil as recommended, it covers temps to -10 which doesn't happen here in the midlands and gives a better layer of lubrication as the temp goes up but yes you will hear many other people advise otherwise haha -

Deffo ATF+4 for the gearbox and also the power steering, DOT 3 for breaks, 10w40 is recommended in my manual for engine oil in my 2002 2.5CRD. coolant needs to be HOAT and you will find that on amazon by Comma. hope that helps http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0048778U6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2HNKJF2IJQQR2&coliid=I1ZLFR8014Z76S
