JH, don't go mad with modifying as Lancia don't make too many mistakes! You'd be better off to do 1 thing at a time when developing your car, then you know what works and what doesn't
-
It's not the clutch! It IS the flywheel, which is a dual-mass (2 piece) unit, the clutch disc doesn't have take up springs anymore. I am not sure about UK workshop pricing but I would estimate at least 500 quid, as you will have to replace the flywheel, clutch and for reliability sake the clutch slave cylinder. I had the same problem with a Fiat Marea 1.9 jtd and did over 50k miles after the original (same) diagnosis, until the clutch was worn out, if you can like with the shudder then I wouldn't worry about it being an immediate expense

Excellent result !!!

Being honest Mikey, it wasn't such a pain, as it was mostly labour work and just a little bit of brain work to sort it properly Am just glad that I could do it myself! As I'm sure that a garages labour cost would have made my wallet cry

Just to revisit this . . I finally got around to changing the DRL, due to a looming NCT (MOT) test where they will fail if a warning light is on and should be off or is off and should be on, bumper off, all 16 bolts and 8 self tappers, didn't catch the bumper as it fell off and busted the connections off the 2xH11 bulbs in the fog/corner lights, which I then had to get! Anyway, fitted the new lamp, which didn't work ? So then had to remove the glovebox to gain access to the fusebox, which doesn't contain the fuses for the DRLs, then had to RTFM! The fuses for the DRL are separate to the fusebox and are behind the cover at the drivers right knee, next to the OBD connector, at 1st glance the fuses were OK, but on swapping, the left (new) light worked and the right (original) stopped working, took out both fuses and tested them, 1 was blown, not in the usual centre, but next to the blade! Fitted a pair of fuses and both are working now! 3 fecking hours of graft and can only imagine what the bill would be if it went to the main stealer. So if anyone has the same problem, my advice is to start with the fuses and work your way to the light units

Good find and great information! Glad you are sorted

The only proviso here is that JHs Delta is an automatic and brakes are the only means of stopping or slowing down, as there's minimal engine braking from auto cars
-
Hope that helps

There are little circles in the wiper parked area, align both wipers slightly below or in line with the marks, NEVER above Also try the Punto evo short wiper, if the problem persists

I fitted a 20v n/a engine to a local Ford escort rally car, made 220hp on the dyno and sounds amazing, pure Audi Quattro
-
My wife's Delta is an SE and runs on 16 inch wheels, I use Barum on it and all's good, wet weather grip galore and for 240euros a set

The only problem out of Italy, is that any set of mats would be for left hand drive

I am afraid that I am a dinosaur, I don't have twitbook or whatstwit or twitapp As regards being here, who owns Chrysler . . Fiat :-)

Shalom and Welcome along Josh and best of luck with the new purchase! The only advice I will give comes in 3 parts 1 . . Get to know your car, drive it, find out what happens when you brake, when you turn in and set all levels and tyre pressure to the correct levels and pressure 2 . . Get your car to stop well, make sure that brake discs and pads are in good condition and are working properly 3 . . Then consider what needs doing to put things right

There's a UK registered 20v NA coupe for sale here in Cork for around a grand, don't know condition etc, but I can have a look at it, if you're interested???? Will see if I can post a link, it's on irish donedeal

I got that from a dealer! Yeah, some of the eper links are seen by the virus catchers as file sharing and block them. That eper is wide open (but for how long?)

There's an open Eper at www.fiatdalys.lt

The 1st thing I would try is a new reverse light switch. It should be relatively cheap (budget about 30-40 quid fitted) and check the connections on the connector for water ingress and corrosion In my experience, Fiat group reverse light switches are notorious for burning out
-
Did our Delta (1.4 MA) @ 56k, last year, 5 years on it, the original was in very good condition and while I got a kit with water pump, the original was still tight and I didn't bother with the palaver of replacing it Parts cost me 70 quid and I did the job myself
-
Alan, have you investigated the possibility of buying a new one here in Ireland and exporting it to the UK?
-
Scooby, find a scrapped 2007on Fiat Bravo and buy the spare wheel and toolkit from it!

Will have a look in my shed on Tuesday evening and will have a look

Yeah, the early mark2 Ducato (94 on) had the wiper ducting drain straight on top of the battery, which overflowed and coated the chassis leg in battery acid!!! The modification was to move the drain as far as possible from the battery . . ie, over the gearbox vent, which washed the grease off the external linkage and seized it!!! Some days you are the pigeon, some days you're the statue
-
As far as I remember, the siren is located in the wiper linkage ducting beneath the windscreen
