  1. Thanks lads, I did the reset just a few minutes ago and all is now perfect :-D There's pints, should you get to our green and pleasant isle !!!
  2. Thanks Mike, I will get to it in the morning and report back :-D
  3. The loss of air conditioning, is due to the engine voltage dropping under 12v as the engine stalls and drops in revs, which kicks out the alternator pulley clutch until charging voltage resumes As for the air conditioning not working for a period of time, the only thing that I can think of, would be an auxiliary belt losing tension
  4. Hi lads (and possibly lassies!) My wifes 2012 Delta is giving a weird problem with the LHR window regulator It started when my daughter knocked on the window, to salute a friend, as she put the window down Since then the window will do anything but park in the closed position It goes to the top and then right down again, if you inch it to the closed position it will stay closed, but if you use the remote to close it or use the automatic function it will close but then go straight back down again It is only the lhr window Ideas please! I have an idea that it may be a motor problem, as I looked at the slides and all are clean and clear
  5. On my wifes Delta, the stop/start system has never worked, apart from a brief period (after having removed the battery in a search for the gearbox filler bung) it hasn't really been an issue, but I like stuff to work! My Punto diesel daily driver is now at 3 years and 95000 kms, I've ordered a new Tipo saloon, and the punto and the delta were sitting nose to nose in the driveway, I decided to swap the 6 year old battery for the 3 year old battery! Lo and behold, the Deltas stop/start system has come to life, working perfectly a week later! ! ! The Punto had me worried, but after a day or two it has begun working properly. I now believe that the battery has more of an effect on the stop/start system than meets the eye
  6. I agree completely !!!I fitted a pair to my wifes Delta and while I am well used to Fiat and their awkward bulb positions (try the mk2 Punto lh fog and diplight bulb changes) the Delta was a particular pain in the exit orifice! Despite having a good mirror, i needed the dexterity of a double jointed, piano playing, small handed midwife, to properly align the clip, while making sure that the bulb doesn't twist in the holder . . Nello, I feel your pain and frustration
  7. Just curious, but wondered if you cars are diesel or petrol ??? As my wifes car (1.4 multi air) is due a new belt and pump in the near future!
  8. I always find this as well, I wonder if it's something to do with the circuit delivering full current to the single available bulb ??? Or does the remaining bulb just wave the white flag :-D
  9. If the Delta is the same as the 08 on Bravo or Giulietta, then you remove the rear covers of the centre console and that reveals the handbrake mechanism and there's a 10mm nut on the short handbrake cable. It's good practice to loosen off the cable and drive the car for a few days to get the calipers self adjusting mechanism back to operation. After a few days, adjust to no more than 4 notches, hopefully it will all work out. If you have to change the rear brake pads, just be aware that the left hand caliper is also left-hand thread to wind back in!
  10. 2 valuable pieces of kit for bulb changes in the Delta, a mirror on a rod and a torch ? As Nello said, the washer bottle top clips out on the passenger side, although on my wifes car, it didn't quite seal back perfectly Also I used Lidl bulbs, 6 euros a pair and they have 50% extra light, very effective on the winter months ?
  11. Just reading through the forum and spotted this post, regarding suspension knocks The front suspension is basically Fiat Bravo and my wife's old (2008) Bravo had 3 new ball joints in 6 years ownership (2x left and 1 right) Your roads over in the UK put our tracks over here in Ireland to shame, so imagine the battering our cars get The weird thing was that they would just wear in 1 position, when checking there would be play in 1 spot and tight as a drum every other way Fiat will only sell the complete lower swinging arm, but the ball joints are available through the motor factors as a separate piece and come complete with bolts and locknuts...there is a bit of work involved in fitting, but the joint alone is a 10th of the price of a complete arm...so man-maths win every time !!!!!
  12. I have used Castrol edge in my wife's car (1.4 multi-air) And the Halfords filter, both without issue Although, that said, I intend changing the oil filter at half the service interval (3k miles) and the engine oil and filter (again) at 6k intervals I have been told that oil filtration is the thing that matters most in the multi-air engines
  13. I completely agree with both these posts
  14. Just a quick note, but if the petrol Delta is similar to the other Fiat group cars (Bravo etc) there is no petrol line filter fitted There are however 2 gauze filters fitted, 1 as a pre-filter in the fuel pump intake and the others (4 off) in the fuel injector inlets Hope this makes sense ???
