  1. I am selling a brand new, boxed water pump to fit a 2006 GV. This is a spare part and has never been out of the box except to take the picture. It comes with the required O Rings. I want £35 for it posted within the mainland UK, no silly offers please Keith
  2. Thanks guys. Can anyone let me know where to look for a fuse please? TIA Keith
  3. Hi guys. I am looking to buy a drivers seat memory module to fit an 06 Grand Voyager, anyone have one kicking about gathering dust and want to turn it into a few squids? TIA Keith
  4. Hi all. My 2006 GV has a memory switch on the drivers door that is supposed to set the seat position. This is not working and when pressed the seat will move a fraction stop, but it is not in the position that I entered into memory. Can anyone suggest where the fault may lay please? Tia Keith
  5. Thanks for your reply. I should have mentioned that it is the 2.8l diesel engine. The engine starts reasonably, not always great but after a few cranks it usually fires up. Sometimes the battery isn't up to it (I think something is draining the battery) but that is a separate issue altogether. Thanks again Keith
  6. Hi all. I hope that someone can help me with this issue. Occasionally when starting off in the morning or after the car has been left stationary for a period, the engine falters and feels as if it is about to stall. It then picks up and off we go. I am concerned that it will stall one day or have a power loss when I pull out of a junction or a roundabout. Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to cure it please? I am thinking that there may be air getting into the fuel line or something like that? TIA Keith
  7. Hi guys. I have a 56 reg GV that seems to have everything but the front bumper has plastic parts in front of the headlamps that I assume as washers. Can anyone tell me how they work please |(obviously mine don't seem to) as I have tried them with lights on and off with no water coming out? I hope someone can point me at potential problem areas or even tell me if they are actually fitted (how to find out?). Thanks in advance Keith
  8. I have had the oil light come on when I am towing my caravan. It comes on after several miles especially on hot days, and then goes out again??? Never comes on when not towing. Any suggestions chaps please? Keith
  9. Thanks for the info Bignev. I told the original garage that I had had a second opinion and they have since replaced the A/C compressor under warranty. They found that a rubber "clutch" type thing had seized up and they have fitted an upgraded unit, apparently this has happened previously and the manufacturer was not surprised, but the previous replacement is no longer available Keith
  10. Hiya. I went to my local garage and they have diagnosed a broken/defective compressor..... What a surprise eh? I am taking the car back to the original garage and asking them to replace the compressor / drier under warranty and hopefully they won't need to drop the engine or anything else to do that. I am now of course wary that they will do something silly to my car although maybe I am being cynical.... Keith
  11. Thanks for that bignev. I am not a fridge engineer but have spent time around -80 degree freezers so I had a distinct smell of BS when this was being explained to me. I think that you thoughts are very similar to mine and I thank you for taking the time to respond. Cheers matey Keith
  12. Hi. Last August I had to have a new A/C compressor and drier fitted to my 2.8 GV ((56 reg) and it has worked very well until last Tuesday. I was travelling up from London and stopped at a motorway services to use the facilities. It was a hot day (25+ degrees C) and the A/C had been keeping the car nice and cold, and I mean cold.... After returning from the services I started the engine and there was a screeching noise from under the bonnet, I had a quick look but didn't see anything obvious, so started driving back home. The A/C was not working and the system was just blowing warm air into the car. I switched the A/C off in case something had frozen and drove a few miles with it off to allow and icing to melt. This did not work and the system has not worked since. When I start the car something is howling from the front right of the engine, making me suspect the compressor. I returned the car to the garage that had fitted the unit and they checked around thinking the compressor had failed but obviously carrying out a diagnostic test. Apparently the system took a while to pull down to zero and after 45+ minutes under vacuum the vacuum was turned off and the pressure started to rise slowly. Apparently they recovered quite a quantity of refrigerant (not sure of the exact amount) so I guess there is no leak in the system. The garages conclusion is that the fault is "probably" a failed thermo expansion valve which I am told is bolted to the front bulkhead and will require the engine to be dropped down to allow access, and this will involve about 12 hours work, plus cost of parts. They also said that if the compressor is damaged then it will be because of the failed valve and will therefore not carry any warranty. It was indicated that the job could cost around £1200 and this is far too much to spend on this car. I am hopeful that someone can offer some advice as I am unsure that the story I am being told is entirely true. Does anyone know where this thermo expansion valve is located? I am looking forward to your replies please. Many thanks Keith
  13. With regard to lowering the Grand Voyager, I have just replaced the tyres at the front of mine as I discovered they were 215 55R16 and should be 215 65R16. I know that a 10% increase in sidewall doesn't sound much but my car was grounding on bumpy roads and now it isn't, so I am very happy with the outcome. I hope this helps in some way Keith
  14. Hi, yes that is my thinking. Good luck and please post back to let us know the result Keith
