  1. What age cars are you looking at as my 2005 is solid as & my mates one - 2006 - has no rust either. Had a late 90's one in the late 90's & that had none either
  2. I've got pretty much the same. It was minus something or other this morning & although the aux heater indicated it was on it didn't seem to make much difference. To turn it off just lower both temps a few degrees then set them back to normal.
  3. I've had my current 2005 GV for nearly 10 years now & would echo whats been said above. The handbrakes are rubbish. My local garage rebuilds mine every other year at MOT time -which happ3ns to be next week. He also looks after another GV & the guy who owns that insists on new parts but my guy at the garage says his doesn't work any better than my rebuilt oe using existing. other than that ive not noticed any of the points you made in your original post. Rear tyres last as long as any car I've had & i tow with mine during the summer months as we canp quite a lot. Look for a stow & go. They are so versatile. Had one fault on a door with a broken cable in the track that I've fixed a couple of times but thats an easy one. All cars develop some faults but my voyager is solid with few issues. One thing i would say is that they do eat batteries. I'm on about N°5 so they last on average about 2 years but as i bought one with a 5 year warranty a few years back they've had to change it twice for free. Seating layout in these is second to none & we can fit all 7 of us in ours with no problems - me, Mrs W, son N°1 who's a 6'2" prop forward, 2 teenage girls, son N°2 who's still in a booster seat & my 80 year old mum who lives with us.
  4. I have a 2005 ltdxs 2.8 crd. The stow &go is superb for knocking in to a van in a matter of minutes. Also make sure the headphones work so the little ones can watch paw patrol while you tune in to radio 2 & theres none of that are we there yet from the back. Mines done 118000 & apart from eating betteries its been good. The gearbox is my achilies heel. 2 torque converters & a new clutch. Check the gearbox oil - or better still have an auto box specialist look at it. As said, these engines do have a particular sound & my kids also know when I'm arriving as they can tell the pitch of this engine. They are a wee bit agricultural to be honest -its a big engine to be a 4 pot - but if looked after will go on for a long time. also if you can make sure it starts not only from cold but also when its warmed up. My mates one would never start again after it had warmed up even after changing half the sensors etc.
  5. Hi - i understand that the panel that has the headlight / interior light / mirror controls on can be lit. Anyone know what bulbs to use & where these can be sourced? Also while I'm on i need to replace the lighting in the panel above the radio that houses the seat heater / rear wiper / hazard switches as the only one now lit is the passenger seat heater. Is this one sealed unit or an the bulbs be bought? Seen a few available on ebay but ot sure if I'd just get the switches which don't need replacing as they all work. Thanks Woodie
  6. Happened to me a couple of years ago. Diagnosed as injector fault, but turned out to be a dodgy fuel filter that was clogged. Make sure mines changed every year now & not had problem since
  7. Hi - if you're still looking have you tried Terry at a1 chrysler? He's in Higham - in between Gravesend & Strood. Sure he'd be able to do it. Give us a pm if you want his number.
  8. I had it leaking in the boot. Took out the one way valve &just joined the tubes. Its only there so you get instant hit of water. I now have to wait a second or two for it to start but thats not a biggy as it hardly notices.
  9. Hi - i had the very same problem only a couple of months ago. my local independent changed the gearbox ecu for a warranted used from acd spares in Lancaster & that didn't sort it totally so he changed the gearbox solenoid. Not had any problems since. Cost me all in including labour £450. I'm down in kent & use an ex chrysler guy who's forgotten more than most know about these. Only trouble is he does get booked up.
