I've replaced the battery twice in the last 3 years and this one's done, leave the lights or anything at all in for 5 mins and it's dead. Is there a higher spec battery that actually last for the 2. 8CRD?

Recently had a chime when braking but no lights on dash, eventually noticed the four inner led's on the reverse parking sensors are red, and seemingly the sensors not working, any ideas is the chime which has now stopped connected?

Rear Sill Rusting - Suggestions?
3ddesign replied to andyb2000's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Just done the front of both sills behind the front mudflaps, had to cut away completely and weld in plates, fill and done the whole underside with stone chip to stop getting worse. But id recommend it as i kniw its sorred once and for all -
I've finally got the camber and alignment set which was a faff. Not sure why but it has raised the ride height of the car. Now measuring 30" from ground to top inside radius of wheelarch.

I've knocked the fuel heater flexi exhaust hose and it dissentigrated. Does anyone know what size it is or how to replace? I'd like to think it's standard hose.

They must be, looking on rock auto there do seem some different coil type in the different struts from different suppliers. Comparing mine to most on autotrader its definitely low, but the money ploughed into it the last month ill get it MOT'd and do the springs later
-
I guess theyve probably not bothered uprating the springs when they fitted the heavier diesel engine ! I woukdnt get away with that caper in my line of work !
-
This is wrecking my head, looking at same cars online and they definitely sit alot higher on the front struts. Are they adjustable or something? Im going to have to buy brand new strut assemblies to see if i can sort, the roads here are to bad to be running too low

Is there different types of factory roof bars ? I took a pair of an identical GV4 in a local scrapper,i took them off myself and they came off no bother at all, now months later im trying to fit them to mine and they just dont seem to fit?

I fitted the camber bolts and made a difference to the ride height, not sure how but the cars sitting better, will see better when i get the full camber and alignment done

Yeah, id heard the clicking before the first one went but didnt know what it was, whem i changed the strut on that side the snap ring had broken so the drive shaft came out of the cv joint. Mate whos a mechanic asked me had i heard a clicking which i had. Then heard it again last week which was the other side needig doing. The clicking noise is the ball bearings running in the worn casing.

Gv 2.8Crd Catastrophic Breakdown Help Needed!
3ddesign replied to Showman89's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Id a new engine in the summer andcgearbox problems after, it was the fuse wire at the battery and then the relay. Easily damaged if the mechanics careless -
Mine on the driver side went the other week in the driveway, thevother side started clicking so changed it today, total handling anf fought me to the end. Had to smash out the ball bearings and cut the spider off. Listen for the clicking on tight corners. It will give plenty of notice.

Mine seems 28" or there abouts, roads around here bad and it bottoms out quite a bit which is cracking me up. Will probably pass an mot ok ,but are these cars really that soft or do i need brand new springs or is there a way to stiffen the front end?
-
Thanks,im about to fit a new hand brake cable !
-
Def no slots, I took out all the bolts to double check and the old ones only holes as well. When I get the new bolts I'll fit and take to the local tyre place. They've always done a decent job
-
Mine dont seem to have the slots in the bottom hole. The camber bolts should give adjust3even without the slots. I design alot of machinery and the slot is usually a given ! Just one thing im either imagining it or not but im convinced the front of the cars sitting lower than before. Any chance someone could throw a tape and measure the height of the wheelarch to the ground? Thanks
-
Not sure if it will work but i ordered camber bolts from rockauto. If it helps i'll post an update
-
Thanks, Itried that yesterday but theres not much play in the bolts. I had taken it to a local place to get aligned and they just cant seem to get it right. Ive mucked about now myself tweeking and atleast have it running straight and even. Of course now the cv joint is clicking after doing the other joint last week. It seems an endless one thing after the other with this car. Not much else to break on it !
-
Ive replaced the two frontnstruts with good ones from a breaker here in Newtonabbey. The passenger side wheel seems to be sitting tilted out at the bottom, but theres no slot in the strut for camber adjustment. Am i missing something ? Thanks
-
Could be i just did the cv joint on the other side thanks

ABS fault was front left, replaced with new sensor but light still on, is there any known faults ?

Got the tool but didnt need it, still a bit of a faff but done,
