  1. I had a break in the exhaust pipe on my 1.4 M.Air last week so needed a replacement. The centre hanger rusted through so that the centre pipe was unsupported and the additional movement/weight caused it to break at the flange joining it to the front pipe. The centre pipe and back box were original and in pretty poor condition anyway so I decided to change them both, eventually going for a bespoke stainless system after trying to find suitable Delta/Bravo spares. The front pipe was still OK so this has been kept. I'm very pleased with the new installation which has a lifetime warranty from a local supplier. The back box in particular is much tidier than the original convoluted pipework - photos attached. Sounds good too!
  2. 2012 and it's always passed annual MOTs without a problem, I'm really just interested to know a bit more about the adjustment mechanism. MOT is due in a few months so it will get a check then anyway. Thanks for the suggestion on bulbs. They are still 55W I presume. Are they brighter?
  3. I've just had the knuckle skinning experience of changing a dipped beam bulb on the Delta and the previous post on bulb changing was very useful. Mirror essential to work out how that clip works! I think my lamps are a bit out of alignment so want to have a go at adjusting them but thought I'd check here before diving in. I can see 2 horizontal hex bars that look like they should adjust the main and dipped beams left to right and then 2 grey Philips type vertical screws that look like they should adjust up and down. Have I got this right or is the headlamp adjustment done a different way?
  4. Just adding a note on my experience with the springs. When I bought my car, 2012 1.4 Multiair, in 2016 it had had the offside rear one replaced. The nearside rear duly broke in 2017 and since I needed to get it back on the road quickly I purchased replacement from Chrysler but at the same time ordered a full set of the Eibach springs since I knew sooner or later based on the comments on this Forum that I'd have a problem with the fronts. They were being quoted as out of stock at Eibach at the time hence the decision to get one from the local Chrysler dealer. The Eibach springs took several weeks to arrive but they did eventually (£124 for the four) and since then have been sitting in the garage but sure enough a couple of weeks ago the front nearside spring broke so this gave me the opportunity to replace all four with the Eibachs. I've attached some photos to show before and after and I think it's clear there's a definite lowering. Unfortunately I wasn't organised enough to actually measure anything! They are noticeably stiffer and I'll keep an eye on them to see if they lower any more as they settle in.
  5. Thanks for the response. I'm near Milton Keynes but stay clear of Chrysler main dealers otherwise would ask them. It will have to be a sticker over the top for the time being!
  6. Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the gear change indicator light on the dash (1.3MAir SE). I find it very irritating especially at night. I can't see an option on the basic menu to switch off but wondered whether this is dealer programmable. I understand the 1.6 diesel doesn't have it anyway.
  7. Another suggestion.... I had the same problem recently and greased the lock post to which the cap connects. This seems to have fixed the problem - now runs in and out smoothly. Also have had a problem with the filler cap itself - the torque ratchet seems to have broken so it was just spinning instead of unscrewing. Required the dexterity of a safe breaker to get it off! I bought a replacement from Bremmer on eBay and it fits well and doesn't have a ratchet so unlikely to have a similar problem in future.
  8. Airbag replaced! Have to own up that I didn't do it myself. Car was going into garage for service so I asked them to do it but went on no problem and no warning lights or strange electrics behaviour.
  9. Thanks Nello, I bought the car from Arnold Clark back in the summer last year and I asked them if they could get the Lancia badging and they said yes and quoted for all the items. They even said there was stock of the wheel centres in the UK which seemed odd and I'm not sure if I believe this although they came quickly. In the end I just bought the wheel centres and rear badge from them. They said they could only supply the horizontal bar version of the Lancia grill and I wanted the vertical one so I bought this from Italy. I also bought the steering wheel centre from Italy since the UK price for this was a whopping £800 and I think I paid about £90 from memory. The wheel centres were about £19 each but worth it I think. I've had several Lancias over the years although currently just have a Gamma coupe which I've had for 27 years. I know of one other Gamma owner that has a Delta and rebadged it and also another Gamma owner that has an Ypsilon and done the same. We were all motivated by our trip to the Gamma 40th in Turin last year when we saw so many Deltas and Ypsilons about the place.
  10. Just changed the grill on mine, a bog standard 1.4 MAir. Also changed the wheel centres, rear badge and put on some non-OEM kick plates. I have the airbag steering wheel centre to fit which is the next job. Thanks to all the posts here which really helped give the confidence to do the work. I've added a few photos. Managed to get the old Chrysler grill off without breaking any of the plastic tangs. One thought - is it necessary to undo the bolts in the white metal joint? These seem to just hold the outer wing to inner wing and aren't directly related to the bumper but maybe the bumper wouldn't come off without them out? Taking these out took about half the total job time for me. Thanks again everyone. Ian Powis
