Tjb, nice buy! please post some pics when you get the Lancia conversion completed. I have the same colour Delta Inc trim in a petrol SR. It's a pearlescent bronze that never comes out on the photos. My neighbours love it. There was a Lancia specialist down near Evesham that I think can source the Lancia headrests, I can dig out the contact details if you're interested?

Enging Management Fuel Pressure P1064 Fault
Josboogz replied to Josboogz's question in Chrysler Delta
Cheers Mikey seems consistent with what I have read or heard. I'm in Rugby, thinking of heading to Auto Diag in Dunchurch on the A45 which should be able to test the sensor for me. Funny coincidence as they said they had a Delta in and was currently trying to rebuild the heater system and having a nightmare as it had been bodged before. As car drives no differently hoping it's the sensor. Fingers crossed! -
Hi All, My Delta 1.4 (140) SE went in for a recent Oil/OilFilter and Air Filter change and then a day later the Engine Management Light came on with "Check Engine" warning and Start/Stop disabled (which didnt work anyway). I supplied the Selenia Pure K Oil and Mann Filter so I know the parts were good unless the oil was a dodgy batch? My mechanic that did the oil change checked his work, read the fault code and said its P1064 which suggests its Fuel Pressure at fault. But he isnt a diagnostic expert and said i may need to go to Fiat. Car is running fine in regard to power and idling and feels no different. From some online research, some have suggested a gauze filter (part number - 55238665) that could be replaced, https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-mito/785042-possible-multiair-failure.html or that the fuel rail pressure sensor is at fault. I am trying to get Multiecuscan up and running so i can get the proper description from the fault this evening, but not sure my ELM interface is working correctly. What do you guys recommend, I dont want to chuck money at guessing at the parts that need changing but do I have a choice? Thinking of going to a diagnostic specialist? Any advice appreciated!

Mikey is right. I have 2 deltas and this year rears went on one and fronts on the other. I had to get sets from the dealer at an extortionate cost. It is useful for all Delta owners to know if bravo coils fit as the can be had for a 5th of the price. What is odd is the parts that came from dealer didn't match the eper system so something fishy going on. I have an original of front and rear so if they go again I will order bravo set and compare. Mechanic advised against lowering springs and I prefer originals. Also with stiffer springs may put more stress on mounts and wishbone which my alfa always had issues with. But at present it's definitely the cheaper option.

Mechanic Hiss/whining Lifting Off Accelerator
Josboogz replied to Josboogz's question in Chrysler Delta
Thanks guys. I will take a look tonight and see if I can pinpoint where in the engine bay its coming from. Its definitely louder from the passenger side window. Yes I noticed the whooshing from the westgate being a little louder these days and its quite nice. I am due to get the cambelt and waterpump changed soon so I will my mech to do check if I cannot determine the cause before then. No notice in power loss but I will report back with my findings should it help others. -
HI All, Just wondering if you can help. I have a 1.4 Petrol Delta and a high pitch mechanical hissing sound like a whine can be heard when lifting off the accelerator. It happens consistently regardless of driving along or being stationary or out of gear. Searching around online it could be the alterator and the drive belt. Just wondered if anyone else has encountered this? Cheers, Jos

Hi All, Just in case its of use to people. THe original coil springs are hard to find, but are still available from the main Chrysler Dealer as it has to come from Italy. The cost is 124.63 + VAT per side!!!! Generally 1 hours labour to change each side too. As mentioned best to replace them as a pair. The part number is 50709043. The other option is as L Plates recommended and the Eibach pro springs but this requires a change across all 4 and lowers the car so depends if thats what you want. you just have the additional 1 hour labour for both rear springs. My mechanic recommended against lowering if possible, but he says a lot of coil failures happening so one to look out for as the original part is expensive!!!

Thanks for the advice. It is true buy cheap buy twice, normally something else fails and the coolant has to be replaced again. Fingers crossed this doesnt happen!
-
Hi All, Do any of you guys have any recommendations for coolant for the Delta. Paraflu Up seems so expensive and with 7ltr capacity would need 40 quids worth. I dont trust cheap brands just wondered what others have used. Thanks,

MikeyRules, did the aux belt pulley come with the cambelt kit? Dont think it does but not sure where i can get the part from? As you suggested going to get a gates belt kit with waterpump. Are the waterpumps with gates kit decent? Or best to get just get original waterpump? I have Michelin Primacy 3s and they wore within a year and a half 18k. Delta is heavy car and heavy on brakes and tyres i feel. Dunlop blue response is what i had on my alfa and they were great wearing and performance wise.

Sad news. Sometimes luck of the draw as you did everything right getting one looked after. Spotted this on ebay, Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302004989809 Breaking Delta which you could get a Turbo if you can't find one new. Will search ebay Italia for you.

Cheers for the help guys. Might all tie up with my tech when I get the cambelts and waterpump done. Yep will be changing oil yearly regardless of mileage as per my old alfa. Wanted to change every 6 months (without filter change) with my Pela oil extractor but didn't work on the Delta for some reason.
-
Cheers Mikeyrules. Glad to know there is no issues if not renewed. Will go back to my tech and get it sorted. Still need to get the ePar and diagnostic connection so am little prepared for any issues.

This sounds very annoying. Of I can all the kids car seats out I will see what the mechanism is doing and report back. Have you tried sliding the seats back amd forth to see if it will help the mechanism along or do you have a limited?
-
Hi All, Similar to twe, kids stopping me getting on the forum often enough! Need to get better l. I got my Delta 1.4 m air service last month but my mechanic didn't reset the Maintenance Schedule, I noticed it says when it expires under Setting My Car Maintenance Schedule on the car radio display. I thought that a dash warning would come on if service is due? Are they any problems if it is not reset soon. I thought I read diesels dpf may not recycle? But wondered if anything happens on the petrols.

Cool didn't know that at all. cheers for the tip!

I was just planning on getting my my cambelt done April time. I have 2 Deltas both 1.4 140bhps. Had an alfa 156 before and can stress importance cambelt as stated above. Although thought cambelt failure is only an issue for 1.6engines and above? Be careful on sourcing the part. You want original where there are more teeth on belt and belt than on a cheap part. My local mechanic quoted 3 hours labour at 150. Good news on it running a little better on low revs. Look forward to getting it changed. Also concur with sportwagon. Not much in it on space in boot. The cost of Deltas compared to others of same nothing compares. Maybe more hassle with getting specialist and potential parts but worth it for the exclusivity!!!

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone knows service interval for the fuel filter for 1.4 m air petrol? Bought a few parts for a service but fuel filter didn't cross my mind and didnt notice it in the 1.4 m air service schedule. Cheers

I have 2 Delta in the family and one is sticky but we worked out the flap needs depressing with force to open. The other is normal and opens easily.
-
Cheers guys will see if I can source a bravo wheel. Do you know where the best place to get original service parts like oil filter, pollen filter and air filter? Isaw good link on here for motor oil but wasn't sure best place to get original parts or if not original next best recommended brands. Saw a 2l limited on ebay for breaking at 80K looks immaculate wonder if cambelt failed, hence the breaking?
-
Nice one Nello, good that you know Nigel, great bloke with a great passion for Italian Cars. Guys, I was just wondering what you have decided about getting a spare wheel for the delta? I have the emergeny kit that is supplied but not sure I would ever trust it and they say that when the repair seal is used it writes off the tyre. Can the boot actually house a full size spare looks like its big enough?
-
Hi Nello, I tookmy alfa to Motormech and was always pleased. I work with a mate Nigel who knew Paul and Svet really well, forever getting his 400bhp Couple sorted there. We have two Deltas in the family so would get the cambelt done on both next year with full service but might and try and get many parts as poss to keep cost down. Just got hold of some Selenia Pure Energy K so doing a mid year oil change on both. The place to do the conversion was were my Delta was last serviced. http://www.njsalfaromeo.co.uk The chap seemed very knowledgeable so If they were closer they would be a good garage too. In the manual in mentions about being able to auto close windows on locking is this possible?
-
Yep the guy said that the Airbag would be second hand because the new ones cost a fortune. Headrests were included in the price, but he said it would depend on the car VIN code probably life you said on the rear emblems. I have an SR and not the Limited. With children i needed the Rear Sliding functionality. My alfa had full leather and alfa embossed seats all round, I miss it and the handling... Rossacorsa have you changed the stereo? The preset thing is annoying me, is there a way to navigate through your presets easily? thanks
-
Cheers for the service schedule. Can't believe the spark plugs need renewing so often! Not expensive but just seems excessive. As suggested by others going to do the oil every 6 months whenever possible. £500 included the lot I think, including headrest and software update. You guys must have a lovely Delta if it's been re-badged and stereo updated etc? What's the availability of Delta specific parts like? As in bumpers headlights etc? All available from Italy I guess.
