Hi has anyone has experience of changing the fuel filter and worth doing? if so do you know where to get hold of one and cost of labour to fit? I noticed it mentioned it should be changed at 70 and 140k. I think my deltas are due another cam belt change, manual stating every 4/5 years. what are people’s thoughts on changing spark plugs. I did it a few years back but didn’t notice any change. Thanks,

Hi all, I’ve noticed my air con/ heating in my 1.4 SR had developed a ticking noise. Seems the frequency of the ticking increases with fan speed. When the fan is at max speed it becomes more of a vibration noise. Anyone had similar issues? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Similar issues with both of my Deltas. Heat shield is not a MOT requirement, mine passed without them. I secured the rattling back box with wire which still holds today. Keep an eye out for Bravo back box sales as deltamike says, found one for £36 and replaced it. Mechanic mentioned that the brackets were a little high but were easily bent to hold the bravo back box without issue.

Hi Alan, unfortunately a sign that all the LEDs are still operational prove the jfault is not the light unit. My light was the same, it wojld go through periods of working when it was locked via the alarm and them eventually started malfunctioning more often. The solution is replacing the light unit. hope this helps

Cheers chaps. Yes that Alfa is amazing!! Can’t see why you regret that sale. Will keep those unipart recommendations in mind.

Cheers Mikey, My Indy did say sometimes it’s luck of the draw on the Manufacturing of brakes with the fit and they squeak until they settle down. You had a TBi sport wagon! Awesome! How was the boot space compared to the delta? I am still tempted to buy one but it’s crazy money for a car 5–6 years older than my delta and double the mileage. I loved my 156 but it always has some niggles which I don’t miss especially with a family to transport about.

Hi All, Just wondered if you guys had any brake disc/pad recommendation for the Delta. My last set were Bosch Pads/discs sets (I was under the impression it’s always best to buy same brand discs and pads for compatibility) and haven’t been too pleased. They have squeaked from day 1 and my Indy said copper grease was no longer needed on the new pads or discs these days with spacers and padding provided but I disagree. My Delta is a work horse carrying 3 children and heavy car seats so is heavy on brake use. Carparts4less have Pagid, Eicher Or brembo. I’m tempted with Pagid as they were good on my golf back in the day. Any recommendations and advice welcome Cheers

Just went out to check the connections and the bolts holding the light in the boot and had a fiddle. Looks like a plastic type hex sleeve holding It on? Checked it again and it’s working! Umm.. italian electronics! Will keep an eye out for a lamp as I am not holding much hope. Will keep an eye out and see if it’s intermittent or as per deltamike said connection was loose? Definitely up for delta meet Nello! Prelockdown did you normally drive on the leamington road towards Ryton? I always passed a grey delta on my way to work!

Just to keep you posted Grays in Warwick and the other Fiat Dealers have a single light Unit at as £246.16 so shipping via Germany is the cheaper option at the moment
-
Thanks Nello, that’s helpful. Yep I’m in Rugby, so will do a ring around and get a feel for the prices tomorrow and report back.

Thanks for the helpful comments. Will give the fuses a check on the weekend and report back. I have found one online from Germany for £150 delivered. Not seen anything on eBay, are they generally preowned? Any ideas the going rate on these Rear light units? I think an old post is someone found one for £60 from Italy?
-
Fantastic idea, looks great! Probably as rare the Delta in the UK!

Hi All, Took my Delta for a spin to the supermarket today; whilst in the lockdown it only gets a outing every couple of weeks. Does anyone know the location of the relay and fuse for the driver side rear lights? I noticed the right indicator rapid clicking sound of the relay when selected. I read that sometimes dust around the fuse box could be the cause so going to check this before ordering a new light unit. Any ideas on best places to get a replacement light I know it’s going to be pricey at £150+ Planning on fitting it myself.

May be a little late but Have bought from autodoc, shop4parts and Jamie Porter Alfa specialist as mito bravo parts can be sought from them. Went gates for cambelt kit 7 litres total for coolant capacity so 3-4 litres concentrate Spark plugs ngk, changed mine at 48 and haven’t noticed much difference except it’s less fuel efficient! Hope this helps

Hi All, Has anyone recently purchased an ELM 327 OBD2 reader for multiecuscan? I understand the Chinese imports won’t work so would like a reliable sources one as cheap as possible. Cheers

Unfortunately my wifes delta does not have anything next to the cigarette lighter, not sure if it is the basic spec or a demo model so didn’t include it. My delta has the usb and input aux as you said
-
Hi All, On one of our deltas it has not been fitted with an aux input. After briefly looking behind where it should be I can’t see any cables leading back to the stereo unit. Anyone have an idea how big the job is and what is required? Thanks

Just to confirm got my Delta services and MOT by my local indie. Sailed through MOT:) Sump plug and washer from mito from Alfa workshop was fine. Spark plugs were also right, car feels a lot better a lower revs. Glad I got it done, thanks for the advice chaps

Nice pics well done on the rebadging. When I bought my delta the last service was from these guys http://www.njsalfaromeo.co.uk/ They mentioned they had done a rebadge for another delta around 700 for full rebadge including software load up screen and steering wheel etc

Hi All, Anyone had experience of having 3 child car seats in the rear of a delta? Really don’t want to get rid of the deltas. Online research saying Diono radian 5 may fit 3 across. Or there is the Multimac route. But needs the existing seatbelt mounting point bolts to be replaced and not sure access to these on the delta. Also surprised how narrow rear is, I’m measuring 123 cm which is only fitting the same Multimac version as polo or fiesta?! Any ideas appreciated

Bought these... https://www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/parts/Giulietta_Spark_Glow_Plug.shtml Same part number referenced in Eper. Looks like the original spark plus are ngks Will report back post service

Hi, I noticed the oil filler app was super tight on both my deltas and gave up as knew I would break it. Returned the next day I noticed if the engine is warm it’s easier to open, so worth trying that than forcing the cap. Hope this helps,
-
Cheers Cassini, had the delta for 3 years always use Selinia pure k energy as per the manual, never given me any trouble Car is going in a week on Monday so let you know on the sump plug. Got mine from Jamie Porter - Alfa specialist Cheers Nello, Dont think the plugs have ever been done. Might see if I can get a set before then goes in.
-
Thanks for the help guys much appreciated . When I get my Delta serviced will confirm back on the thread Anyone changed the spark plugs yet? Reluctant to do mine as car still feels ok at 50k.
