  1. Hi, finally a topic about this annoying problem that seems to be the Chrysler's logo. If I remove the battery on mine, it will work for a day or two, after that would work only from the handle but it will close from remote or driver's button. However, from the remote will click open and the engine seems to try opening( like something is blocking its path) but would stay half way open(on the first click closed) until the door handle is pressed and it pools the door back closed. I had similar problems on my previous one, it turned out to be one of the gas struts. I didn't get to this issue yet but is on my list. If anyone could share their symptoms and the repairing procedures, I'm sure would be very useful. If I may add, the left passenger door was not working properly, I replaced the wiring( common fault on these), but still it looks like it needs "resetting",it works from the remote, it works once ( after connecting the battery) from the driver's button, and whenever it wants from the pillar button. ...Not talking about the left hand side mirror....it never worked properly( not since I own it anyway), after reconnecting the battery it goes on and on until at some point stops but not in the right place, I hold it with my hand until it finishes it cycle but it won't operate as the other one. Thanks for sharing
  2. I zoomed on the picture, it is not very clear, anyway, the gearbox is 3.8 litres, type MOPAR9602. Hope it helps.
  3. Is yours the 2001-2008 model? See picture attached. For some reason I can't upload two pictures, I was going to put the 2008+ specs too.
  4. Hi, I did replace the thermostat....if you remember me saying it, my brother in law found that the wiper motor and wiper cover comes off...it is a lot easier after that. After replacing it, the fan kicks in when the temperature goes high and (I can only assume that what it was) the oil does not coming out after cleaning the red circled area. However on heavy acceleration (on neutral as the car is blocked and I can't take it out for a spin right now), a thick black smoke comes out, until I will try it on the road, again assumptions, I believe is all the residue from cleaning the pipes. I'll update the topic soon as I know for sure.
  5. Hi, I am not an Ypsilon owner but if I can help a chrysler owner happy to interfere. any luck with the lights? When you say both, is that all of them, don't you have three?
  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xchrysler+300c+2006+satnav+dvd+player.TRS0&_nkw=chrysler+300c+2006+satnav+dvd+player&_sacat=0 Try ebay, I don't know if you will be anble to see the link I copy/paste in here as is through my account on ebay, but there is a picture attached to have a start from. Hope it helps. I tried attaching the picture but for some reason does not let me. try putting on ebay search bar "chrysler 300c 2006 satnav dvd player", some options will come up.
  7. Hi again, it just came in my mind, the pop up jets will only work when the lights are on. Try that, I still have to look on mine but if I remember well, there is a second motor at the bottom of the washer liquid tank, if yours didn't come as standard with the headlights washers it might be that the bottle doesn't have the second one ( or third as I can tell from the picture attached).
  8. Same happened to me, to my brother in law until he asked me about it and two friends that have GVs like this. I still couldn't find the reason why would they put that option there...
  9. Hi, it has been discussed in few topics. Is either the oil in the gearbox ( if is not too low that caused other damage) or in some cases the acceleration pedal but on that I don't know much about it. Does it drive in reverse with decent speed and the "right" rpm? As would a normal car will. Does it come out in neutral, I guess it does otherwise the diagnose software wouldn't make sense connecting it. Hope it helps.
  10. Hi, a bit confused, the pop up jets are "energised" by the pressure of the water and do not need additional power. I'll check tommorow on mine as it comes with the option and I'll let you know for sure.I remember taking the bumper off when I replaced the engine but not clear on what exactly is behind it.
  11. Hi, I am not doing publicity for any websites even though is the third time this week I recommend this website but if they don't have it, there is an option there where you put your part and the search goes to all the car parts that are signed. I got once an engine from there, they will contact you probably next day. http://www.trents.co.uk/ If they don't have it, someone else in the country that is linked to them will reply. Good luck. Hope it helps.
  12. P.S. I just checked my autodata... gearbox should fill with 3.8 litres, please see picture attached, what do you mean it took 9 litres to the end? Thanks.
  13. I am sorry you feel that way about the forum, I found and still find very useful information on here. Faults that mechanics can't diagnose or even faults that may appear once in a life time of a car. In my defence I had a weird working schedule which gave me no time to get online. For what it's worth I apologise in behalf of other users, sometime (in my case) if I'm not sure of something I don't like interfering as I let someone else that knows more replying to that topic instead of giving useless or ambiguous suggestions. It might be that with your topic... I hope you will ask again as the answer received might help someone else and so on. However glad you got your car sorted.
  14. Hi James, welcome.
  15. It does not matter what side the steering wheel is, I'm from east Europe and currently living in UK... the engine bay looks the same on both models. Actually, the car manufacturers are building the cars for left hand driving and after they adapt them for countries like UK, Australia or others. Moreover, many of my co nationals are buying cars from here and replace the dashboard so they can easily drive them in Europe. The difference are the headlights, the wipers (on some models), pedals and the outside rear view mirrors where the passenger one does not have a dead spot view option ( again only on some models), and in some cases the gear shift mechanism from the left side of the gearbox to the right side. I never heard, and I witnessed few models on different manufacturers, the engine mounts to be replaced. However, an easy way is to take a clear picture of yours and match it with one found it online or your local shop. Hope it helps.
  16. Hi, personal opinion: I owned a petrol automatic and now I have a manual diesel. Manual diesel is a lot cheaper to run but automatic (diesel or petrol) is more comfy, as a 7 seater is the best on the market. if you are getting a "sto and go" one is even better, mine unfortunately is not. Other than that I love it, hope you will feel the same if you choose one.
  17. Hi, I know for sure that 2.5 and 2.8 are identical, engine wise and accessories like alternator and others. The only difference is on the pistons and the parts related to them. If you have a VM engine (it says on it if it is), mercedes sprinter uses the same engine and Alfa Romeo use it on one of their models. Hope it helps.

    New Owner

Hi, personal opinion...the best car Americans ever built. For me is the second one, this time manual and diesel but comfort is maximum you can get from a car. I hope you will feel the same.
  19. Hi, not an expert but on other similar faults was plug behind the screen disconnected or poorly connection was made, or the other end where it connects to the main unit. How did it happen, was at some point working?

    Spare Keys

Hi, beside the fact that they will ask stupid money for it... I once asked inside my local Asda (I don't know if all Asda have them but the one in Bournemouth has a key cut shop in there), it can be done outside main dealer too. A friend of mine is just dealing with his now, Audi £250 plus coding £50. Hope it helps.
  21. Hi, I tried to find some details online, nothing, nor on the autodata that I use. However the gearbox should have the code on it, try to clean with a brush any dirt see if comes up. Hope it helps.
  22. Hi, I hope is not too late for some advice. I did it on mine: You will need a 11mm socket for the head bolts, I would go for an impact one( I actually bought 3 after breaking a normal halfords "advanced" one). If you don't already have it attached you will find the tightening sequence and torque, the new gasket comes with fitting instructions and torques. To have more access to the engine you could remove the bumper and?or the wipers cover and motor casing. As gordy suggested, while you're there do some maintenance on it, I replaced the "O" rings and the copper washers on the injectors too. Not very pleasant but to remove the injectors easily (in case there is a fuel leak and carbon built up around any of them), let the engine running until it melts the unburned fuel, mind that will be hot around the engine. I'm not sure about the existing head if needs skimming but if you replace it with a different one it does. Hope it helps.
  23. There is a grand voyager at Charles Trent. Most of the car parts are still available. Try that. http://www.trents.co.uk
  24. Hi, probably a bit late to suggest answers but did solve the overheating issue?
  25. For those that don't know what your issues are with the fuel, could you please elaborate? Thanks.
