  1. Perhaps a silly question, but you have presed one of the six numbers before attempting to insert the dvd/cd?
  2. Thanks guys. I have covered it with duct tape as per BigNev's suggestion, which I already had, so no cost at all! If it comes off too much I will try QuinteQ's idea. You don't have shares in the insulation company do you QuinteQ?. I've already used some for another of your fixes on the rad grill. Any other places to use it?
  3. Blimey! £54 for the part from Chrysler. Not ordered yet I will try breakers first
  4. Sounds very much like an earthing problem. Also I don't thhink later models have the switch panel light. Not certain though and I am sure someone will confirm or deny..
  5. Ah I see, thanks mate. A feel around revealed the filter in place but no cover. I will try and source one.
  6. Not seen this one before. On the passenger side footwell there seems to be two vents. One is on the right hand side of the centre consol, the other seems to come down directly from the top. The one at the side is fine and blows warm air once up to temperature. The other one which blows directly downwood is constantly freezing cold. It seems to be bringing in air directly from the outside, not via the heater, but the amount of air coming in does increase or decrease with the heater blower speed. Any ideas?
  7. Not the Chrysler fitted one, but the Renaut in line jobby. After reading other topics on the subject of winterising the GV I decided to take the advice and do the mods. Did Quintecs? grill blocking mod with pipe insulation and was going to do the thermostat. Got one via ebay supplied by eurocarparts for a fiver. On a whim I decided to to test it before doing the mod. To my suprise it didn't seem to open in boiling water. I thought perhaps I had damaged it doing the drilling so got another. The same boiling water test showed it only opening just enough to see light through the gap, and barely at that. Is this normal? I would have thought it should open wide at boiling point. Any one else tried one?
  8. All done and my warrenty company paid! At least most of it, I ad to pay 10% excess and £20 as they only pay up to £50 per hour labour charges.
  9. Thanks for the replies guys. Looks a bit beyond my level to do so I have booked it in to be done on Friday. I do have a years warrenty on the car, but not holding my breath waiting fpor them to payout!
  10. Hi guys, looks like the front nearside suspension top mount has failed on my 06 GV. It went pretty sudenly and without warning and It makes an horendous clunking on every bump or pothole in the road. Anyone else had this happen? Is it a big job to do? Best place for replacement mount? Any other advise? TIA
  11. Check out this thread robthemuso http://www.chryslerforum.co.uk/topic/1425-25-crd-thermostat-sealed-unit-or-not/
  12. Exellent stuff thanks guys. I have already ordered a thermostat, only a fiver so not concerned, but I will start just doing the lagging mod. My previous car, a Peugot 407 2.0 tdi heated up in no time at all in the mornings. It had a system that directed the warm water to the heater before the thermostat allowed it to go to the radiator. The GV certainly suffers by comparison to that so perhaps I am just expecting too much from as you say a massive block to warm up.
  13. Thanks guys. Not sure if my thermostat is stuck, I suspect not as my temp gauge does get to around half way. it just takes a good while to get there in the colder weather. i shall do the simple mods and see how it goes.
  14. AndyB200 do you have the part number for the thermostat shown in the vid? It looks differant and easier to do than snipping as per leedsmans guide
  15. Bulbs and sockets collected and fitted. All is now bright again inside.
