Popped in to my local Sainsburys yesterday - came back to the car and there was a LHD Belgian registered LANCIA Ypsilon parked next to me! Pity I did not have my camera and my phone is too naff to have one! I actually saw the wheels first with Lancia centres and thought there was a fellow Lancisti converting his Chrysler!

Delta 12 Plate: Rear Light Cluster Info....
Nello replied to Penguin2007's question in Chrysler Delta
Removed my unit again yesterday and throughly 'wamed' with a hair dryer to remove any internal dampness - got the black casing nicely heated. Once you have unplugged the wiring connector - you can actually pull out the connector socket at the light end which opens an approx. 12mm square hole in to the back of the light circuits etc. Blow dryed away in there........... Reconnected and all seems well so far! I'll see how it goes. Probably where your spider got in Rosso. There are two small screws that seem to secure some of the circuit boarding and two nuts that hold down the securing rods that go through the bodywork. I did loosen these as well but I'm sure the unit is also glued together so no real chance of getting direct inside. -

No chance of any gel Mike but as mentioned they are very exposed so damp the likely culprit. I'm going to remove tomorrow night and throughly dry...... -

Maybe I'll get the hairdryer on it Rosso............. I can believe damp may get in as they are not that well sealed at all - hence the moss around the edges. They are so easy to remove though - got to worth a night in the airing cupboard! -
Delta 12 Plate: Rear Light Cluster Info....
Nello replied to Penguin2007's question in Chrysler Delta
Removed the rear light unit this evening - Must be the easiest Light cluster to ever remove on any car. x2 8mm Internal Allen key bolts accessed from the boot side pod and the whole light unit comes away. In fact it comes out so easy you need to be carefull it does not fall to the floor. I have had fights with things like this over the years with clips and broken/skinned fingers but these are the simplest ever! There is only one single small square connector plug as well for the whole assembly and its off. Unfortunately the thing is a complete sealed unit. Not chance of getting back inside but still worth removing as it gives you a chance to remove all that muck and green moss from the cluster edges - small gap between the join to remove. I did think maybe just reseating the plug may have done it as its initially all worked fine but popped out again tonight and it was on/off. Its now the middle 3 LEDS of the inner light strip instead of the bottom 3 it was initially for some reason. Anyway will watch - might be a new replacement unit after all - They are £185 off eper from Lancia so £120 was a decent price.... -
Hi Jason - good to see you on here........... Not sure if you've seen me but I have the Lancia-(correctly(!))badged Delta - I'm over the road at IBM Have seen you a few times in the morning and in the car park.

Mike do you know what the part number was for the wheel centres you bought? Were they the right colour? Think we have the same wheels..............(17"?) The NEC's only just down the road from me - OK 10 mins by train but as you say - not really ideal for a car meet at the show........... If anyones going though - happy to meet up after or before? I know plenty of country pubs in the area.
-
I'd be up for it! Whereabouts are we all anyway? I'm in Coventry so central for anything really. I always go to the Auto Italia Midlands car day (or Summertime Classics as its now called) at Stanford Hall near Rugby in July?...................I'm not in the LMC so not sure what they organise (thought £50 a year for a club membership was a bit steep)...

Good job Rosso - take it changing the bag does not give you an Airbag light on the dash then?

Delta 12 Plate: Rear Light Cluster Info....
Nello replied to Penguin2007's question in Chrysler Delta
Yes gents I always try to take a look first but with electronics and the fact that its intermittant and now in another location - suspect it may be more than a simple solder........ I'll see how it goes but I hate it when there something noticeable thats not working.... -
Sorry - no response from the seller I got the stripes from and it seems he does not appear on ebay as a seller anymore.......

Delta 12 Plate: Rear Light Cluster Info....
Nello replied to Penguin2007's question in Chrysler Delta
OK strange - after all this time - the bottom three LED's on my nearside cluster have been fine - returned from the Shops tonight and noticed the middle three LED's on the inner strip of the rear lights were out? Wiggled the wiring loom going in to the light unit inside the boot and the LED's flickered on and off............. Hmmm maybe I do need a new rear light unit afterall....I've found a new one in Italy for about £120 so may be worth just changing the whole thing... -
I won the auction for another set of mats so I always have one set cleaned (x2 Rugby playing lads!) Bargain £15 all in inc. delivery! Did anyone win that set of illuminated sills?

My fob logos - one has stayed put but the other moved - one dot of superglue and its stuck rigid
-
I saw that Delta script logo 'fob' - Was that from Germany? Might have to get one though looks a bit dangerous in the pocket! Send us the link for the cases Mike - The ones I got were naff plastic TBH

Mine activates even on my drive which is not that steep.................. Just checked the manual and it should activate on a gradient that is 'higher than 5%' ............whatever that means
-
I use the Sunglasses holder and my Hill Holder works very well......................... I had Auto lights and wipers on my old 159 but they never came on when I wanted them to and vice versa!
-
Yes don't think I'd bother - Unless you want to Auto-raise the bonnet as well Mike!
-
No Mike but bizzarely when we went to look at mine the bonnet 'latch' was missing for some reason. The dealer replaced before I collected the car but when I took the front bumper off to fit the Lancia Grille I found the original latch wedged between the bumper and splashguard/undertray somehow?!

Interested to hear you liked the VX220 over the Elise Mike? How come?

Shes' using the Delta Mike as we've also got a Fiat Coupe LE, X1/9 and an Esprit I think her preference for a 4x4 was due to its higher stance/ visibilty - she then wanted an Evoque until I told her about how much even 2nd hand prices were....... We might wait until the 500x demo's go on to the market but she does not do alot of miles so is ok with the Delta for now (as long as she doesn't kerb the Alloys!!! ) BTW I've just spotted our old Sedici on Autotrader at a dealer!!

The cross branded thing does work on occasion. Mrs Nellos' Sedici was built by Suzuki in Hungary alongside their SX4. Fiat wanted a 4x4 drive system and Suzuki wanted the Fiat 1.9 Oil-burner. TBH it was a very good car - we had the 1.6 Petrol which was a chain-driven Suzuki unit and put over 60k on it. At the time we lived in the middle of a field which was never treated or cleared in winter and it never let us down. Great fun in the snow! http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u241/yardelli/Photo-0032_zpsceyx9n5d.jpg

Yes the Renegade is built alongside the 500x. And yes the current Thema is the same as the current 300c but that was post Fiat as well. I meant re-engineering from the original 300c from when Fiat came on board...... The original Thema Turbo was a stonking piece of kit. Real wolf in sheeps.......... I used to have a Fulvia and used Tanc Barratt in Kidderminster - he used to pick me up from the station whenever my Fulvia was being worked on in a Thema - Great drive. And the Thesis! What style! Loved that but never seen even an import in the UK. We've looked into the 500x to replace my wifes old Sedici which she loved but the 4x4 top spec version is £27k!!

Check for any leaks but thats not really what you want to smell.......... Better to be safe mate
