Delta 12 Plate: Rear Light Cluster Info....
Nello replied to Penguin2007's question in Chrysler Delta
Is it repairable Mikey? -
You're worse than me!
-
Nice one Mike! We were actually just about to go for one until the MA threw a wobbly. I've got a replacement Actuator and is being fitted tomorrow - will let you know how we get on. I think we're definately going for an X though so keep your eye out. Cross Plus or City Lounge (as they have the built in Sat-Nav) and pref Passione red or Art Grey.

Have you changed your engine Cover Mikey? Suprised the dealers sourced your parts Ian though I've always wondered about taking an eper part number in to my local Fiat dealer and seeing what sort of response I'd get. Good stuff chaps!
-
Not really Alan. Fiat fleet to start with then Main Dealer up until me and I use my mates garage who is an Italian Specialist. As mentioned it appears to have been an early MA unit issue (2010-2011) and has been resolved by updating the actuator ports on later - and current MultiAir engines.,....

OK in all the years I've owned FCA products of all shapes and varieties I've never had a major component failure. However a recent engine check light has revealed my MultiAir Actuator has failed. Surfing on the web its a fairly common failure on early MA cars including the Mito and Giulietta. Car is starting to stutter when cold which is the classic sign apparently. I'm now on 56k. A bit miffed as its basically had just two lady owners and has never been thrashed - and yearly oil changes as well but its just one of those I'm afraid. The replacement units for the current cars all fit but have been upgraded as the ports work loose. I'm managed to source one for £500 with another couple of £100 to fit - but theres also a possibility its taken my Turbo as well All this coincided with us looking for a 500X for Mrs Nello so we were pondering just p/x'ing the Delta - however we've decided we'd still need to go out and buy another 4-door car so I'm getting it done (MA unit first)...... No real warning I can give to fellow MA owners - first sign was what sounded like a blowing manifold on throttle then the engine check light.

Happy to be corrected however I'm pretty sure theres no limit of the number of LED's that need to be present as long as theres at least one for it to pass an MoT. Although it will obviously be an advisory ...............

Great work Ian Glad the info helped another Deltisti. Where did you source your Wheel centres from? You did well not to break any of the plastic grille tabs. Pretty sure you do need to remove those white metal bolts to free the bumper but its been a while since I did mine. I think we may be up to about 6-8 converted cars now in the UK that I know of.

Nice one Rich Glad the info helped. Don't think I've seen a black Momo edition before. Great work.

£60 was a bloomin' bargain for a complete light unit! Good find. -
Pretty sure they are 'just' warnings - not that you want to ignore them but nothing will stop happening just because they have not been reset. I personally always change the Oil yearly regardless of mileage and have read good oil is especially important in the Multi-Air.

Don't know Milton Keynes twe but Paul Gilbert at MotorMech will do the job. Centre of Birmingham - 70 miles / 75 mins from you. Definately worth the trip. http://www.motor-mech.co.uk/index.asp Just don't take the wife as he is literally across the road from the Bull Ring/Grand Central/Selfridges and she'll take revenge!

Try pushing the lever in with one hand whilst trying to move the seat with the other at the same time?
-
Sorry we missed when you were down to Stoneleigh Mike - thats only 5 mins from my house!
-
... MITCAR which is at Ragley Hall this year. I might have to nick yer Nav though Ryan
-
Agreed - like Mike says do the Pump at the same time. Same for most cars. The belt has to be off anyway for the pump so may as well for a few more pounds....
-
Fingers crossed twe but I'm sure it'll go again - mine did! Needless to say my replacement new unit has been perfect.
-
A bit of olde English Saxony always helps Mikey!

So did the offside bulb today and yes Alan was right - its a pain as well. Not quite as much as the nearside but still annoying. There is more room for manoeuvre however not enough of an angle to be able to see the back of the light unit and the full bulb/clip. The most annoying thing about changing the Delta's headlight bulbs is the damn stupid Bulb clip. The problem is they easily unclip themselves. If Fiat had designed them with a small amount of fore-thought they would have made them clip on to the bulb holder without coming off. Its so flippin' tricky then trying to clip it back in - insert the new bulb then make sure it doesn't fall out without clipping back over to secure.
-
Not sure Andrew - you would've thought the electrical system would only limit amperage to each side in any case but I have had it happen before on other cars..... Time for more skinned knuckles......................
-
Now my offside has gone! They must go in pairs!
-
Yes the wife and I both have our phones paired on ours and it does seem to throw a wobbly when either of us are in it. Not the best system............
-
Yes my mate who owns Motor-mech in Brum is quoting sub £200 for the belt and water pump on the Bravo so about the same on the Delta. A bit better than the Coupe then!
-
Yes mate - MITCAR being Midlands Italian Car day is now my favoured event now Auto Italia have stopped going to Stanford Hall. Theres also one called Italian Masters - Cars and Coffee on April 15th at Sieghford, Staffs? Not heard of it before but.................................. I do work two out of four weekends but up for a catchup.

I is well hip................
