Help locating a garage with a Chrysler diagnostic tool.
Penguin2007 replied to GrandV's question in Voyager 5th Generation (2008-2016)
try: Coggins in Raunds, Northamptonshire - just off A14. They have serviced my cars for many years. 01933 622242 Penguin -
The padding on my Delta's drivers seat has started to degrade (2012). The back upright is fine. I wonder if anyone else has suffered with the problem & have had the seat re-padded. The upholstery is dusty but fine. Time taken to strip the cushion /remove and reattach the seat? Can it be done in a day? I am based A14 / M1 / M6 junction - recommendations appreciated along with 'ish' price. Else I am very happy - with the car, bought in 2014 - it has only had a new battery x 2. Nothing else! Except the service items / wipers (have found Bosch the best but a bit more expensive) and a pair of headlight bulbs. Kind regards Penguin

My car has passed MoT cleanly again yesterday - but has come back with a comment 'offside & nearside front bottom arm bush starting to debond slightly - ok at present'. 70k miles DELTA M-JET SR NAV

Battery Drain Wing Mirror Lights
Penguin2007 replied to bokof's question in Voyager 5th Generation (2008-2016)
I had a similar problem to this with my Delta diesel. Garage said I was not doing mileage during pandemic ...... Eventually replaced battery with an uprated unit. Took into garage - put onto computer checker and battery good, but was drying before their eyes 14.71 .... 14.XXX etc Error code came back to the clutch system! Elaboration: I have size big feet. In the intervening weeks when having this problem, I had somehow 'kicked / nudged / moved' a make break switch on the clutch pedal. There is no warning light - but it throws up an error code. Effectively there was a closed circuit draining the battery. Remedy: Replace the switch* above the clutch pedal and then fabricate a 'box' to prevent it being nudged. The *switch was ok looking from outside - but refused to open / close on examination. Stupid place for a switch was the mechanics commentary. Has worked now for 18 months without any further problems. Hope this maybe of use -
Sat Nav problems / cruise control problems: after new battery fitted
Penguin2007 replied to Penguin2007's question in Chrysler Delta
Taken car in for MOT. 24 fault codes have come up! They breed in the system. The error code worth noting is apparently C1161 Brake switch. (*) Apparently my size 14's had kicked it into a stuck UP position. (*) If you get someone to check brake lights they are permanently on as well. Remedied by a rubber stopper on brake pedal switch. Also solved the speed control / cruise control! Remember don't put size 14's into the top of the brake pedal. -
I have lost 'stop navigation' in the drop down menu of my 12 plate Delta. (60 kmiles) Battery fitted by Halfords - because original was down to very few volts as it was sat on drive and not used too much. Hill start lamp been on for a while - but told not to bother with it as it could just be a small switch under dash / on brake pedal????? Could it be related to exceptional low voltage? Will a fault trace pick these up on service? Any pointers appreciated...... TIA Penguin

Try an independent - mine sorted out in a few minutes, I thought all of one cluster had gone -but it was the s/start, of which I never use, much prefer the handbrake and older driving skills. Penguin

I have had Bravo ones on both front corners of my 1.6 Delta diesel - no problems so far over 25k+ miles. ISTR it is the latest Bravo springs that are the ones to use.

Radiator Fan With No Blades
Penguin2007 replied to cerbie's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Plastics degrade with age & thermal stress. Remember they wizzes around at a great rate of knots - yours by implication is at least 16 / 17 years old (2019 - 2003), so it has had a good life. Once one blade is shed - it may well catch another blade and knock it - damaging the T connecting it to the disc / hub ... etc etc Don't be tempted to fit a metal fan if it was a plastic one - as they have the suicidal tendencies of costing you a new radiator as well. Kind regards Penguin -

My last advisory (50k miles) advises that the rear box ( and possibly centre box) will require changing on the next MOT in 3 months time. Can anyone state categorically that the Brava(O?A?) Guileetta(?) exhaust are direct replacements? Any chance of the car & part codes please???? Hope its not a CD part :-(( Don't want to change and go to the 'hybridise yet, love the car, excellent mp (55+) no faults, other than the service items.cannot justify cost, or work out how to do 500 miles to France Flexitarian permitting - in one go. Ride height and passenger comfort superb. Mum (86) can get in and out of car easily - only walking stick is excommunicated to the back seat. Does not use oil - but can consume a tank of diesel in one go over 650 miles before the f-dreaded light comes on. Heater too efficient. Need I extoll the marque much more ....... Yes I can get in several boxes of fish or spare feathers as well. Even larger suitcases with the spare bottles of fish oil and champagne! Last summer external temperature 'too high' - internal 60oF - cooled car down to a comfortable temperature in about 10 minutes. From hot sweaty body to steamed up car!!!!! Basic Falken tyres although slightly noisy have just been changed after 32k miles ............... (swopped f to back, original brake shoes....., new tyres to fallen mid cost ones) Roll on Chrysler bring it back!!!! Only criticism, which has now been solved: for half the time - door apertures. Poor on 'dietary new carpark' but in 'blue badge zones ' no problem! :-) Penguin

Glad to be of help - ps ordinary bulbs now last a long time and are far cheaper than LEDs and the associated cabling / transformers / additional bits!! A couple of extra fish for my supper or beers for you! :-))
