Thank you to both of you. I am getting second opinion on thursday just hoping its not a new oil cooler and head gasket.had the car 3 years no problems then in last few months had to have new gearbox (still painful to say those words) starter motor and various other things.

Hi, I had a 99 grand voyager that had those symptoms... In my case was head gasket, the water was pushed into the manifold exhaust and eventually evaporated into the exhaust, I was putting 2 litres every few days. Plus oil in the expansion tank is a sign of head gasket failure. Otherwise, find a different mechanic and do a gasket test, eventually a replacement. Hope it helps.
